His size, strength, and southpaw jab would be the deciding factors. Floyd is technically better, but his strengths wouldn't come into play against a prime Winky Wright.

I think this outcome is entirely possible. I would love to have seen it happen. In the realm of not entirely impossibilities - a near perfect world would see Winky match up with Mayweather at 154 lbs. If the money was right - I'm sure Winky would be do it. Hes said he would drop to 147 to fight Oscar De La Hoya. So, if the money was right to fight Floyd, he would do whatever he could to make it happen.

Sadly, Winky's may be just past his prime and this match up is not as appealing as it was two years ago.

 

A prime Winky Wright was all wrong for PBF. I see Winky wining by UD.

this would be a very intriguing fight, one that I've always felt winky would win by UD though. Using the strategy Hoya TRIED to use, but he would actually make it work....and I think make Floyd look quite bad in the fight too.

 

What about Hopkins/Wright? Those were two p4p'ers and it was the most boring fight I've ever seen.

 

Ronald Winky Wright will beat Floyd Mayweather, but Floyd Mayweather coould prove me wrong. I believe there are still unseen dimension to Floyd Mayweathers game.

One key attribute that you need to beat Floyd is punching power. Winky doesn't have much of this. The guy hasn't registered a stoppage in like 8 years. The only way Winky is going to hurt you is if he is able to land alot of shots on you, he clearly wouldn't be able to get in many clean shots against Floyd. This would pretty much nullify his size advantage. From here, the only way he would beat Floyd would be to use his superior skill. Unfortunately, his skill level is not superior to Floyd's. Floyd's superior handspeed would allow him et in shots when Winky covers up, and Floyd's speed would allow him to get out of there once Winky decided to punch back. This would be a boxing clinic, as Floyd won a UD.
