So no one wants to fight this guy? In possible match-ups, Wright's name is rarely discussed. I know the reasons why most would want to avoid a fight with Winky but a win over Winky still looks good on the resume in my opinion.
he needs to retire or come down on his price b/c the only person that i've heard that is willing to fight him is pavlik...and arum doesnt want that and winky asks for too much
winky has more beef in recent years but ´prices himself out of the market. considering he's starting his own promotional company i'd say he's shooting himself in the foot by not fighting.
I think Winky Wright is still a good enough name to be a worthy fight for a guy on the rise. I also believe Wright does well in PPV buys so I think people would watch a Wright fight.
The problem that Winky is having also is that all the somewhat known fighters at 160 seem to have scheduled bouts so that is delaying him getting back in the ring as well, there were rumors that he was going to fight Verno Phillps but I'm not so sure if Winky can even make 154, but I hope he comes back soon.
Pavlik doesn't trash talk, but you can tell he has no respect for WW. Some sort of grudge. Wouldn't fight Pavlik when he was a prospect then basically DEMANDS a title shot. I can't rember exactly what Pavlik said, but one was something like "I'd love to beat up on the smaller man". I think Arum told him to go get Sturm's title so he would have some 'draw'. Of course Strum will never fight him. Kind of a fools errand.
winky is a good name in any resume, for instance if floyd fought and win against him he would be higher all time
Winky should start calling out Abraham or Mora (if he can get down to 154) He needs to get a belt again. Right now he's lost, at least if he has a belt he has some sort of bargaining chip.
