Meh, this isn't the worst fight in the world nor one of the best. Johnson is a decent fighter, other than the late fluke against Stevens he's looked pretty good. If the goal is GGG-Canelo in September then assuming he was to beat Jacobs, GGG could possibly fit this one in between, in June say.

I'd rather see GGG- Canelo than Saunders especially based on BJS last fight. We're not going to get both when you consider than BJS has a mandatory with Khurtsidze next which hasn't even been scheduled yet and won't take place probably until April at earliest, which wouldn't leave enough time for GGG to fight both him and Canelo.

If Golovkin wants to fight 3-4 times this year, why not?
But how is Johnson his mandatory? (Besides IBF being racially bias)
Just looking at the IBF top 10, Johnson by far has the weakest resume. And he hasn“t fought in 15 months. I know he was scheduled to fight but he ****ed that up by coming in overweight.

Johnson shouldn't be his mandatory for **** sake. Besides, I thought Wade was his IBF mandatory once Jonhson had his injury.

Now he just blew a fight by coming over the limit. If he really has to fight him, he should just schedule the fight on the same card as his fight against Saunders/Khurtzide winner and be rid of it. Or right after the Jacobs fight. Two birds with one stone hehe!

Johnson is an easy win for both Golovkin, and Jacobs.

Well then TJ it is. GGG wanted to fight in Astana and this is a perfect opportunity, since neither BJS nor Canelo would go to Kazakhstan. It's a **** fight but I am content as long as he gets TJ out quickly and begins negotiating for BJS unification right away. Canelo will be busy rematching Jr at the time.

Ive been a fan of boxing for a long time, but in the last 3 years I just couldn't get excited for it anymore. GGG, Usyk, Kovalev and Lomachenko (lately Mikey Garcia since his return) are the only fighters still capable of rekindling my love for the sport and seeing them fight anyone at this point is my favorite past time.

Tuereno s a decent fighter, durable with good workrate. He had the Stevens fight in the bag untill that hail Mary shot and controversial stoppage derailed his sure win

If GGG can't get the winner of BJS/Khurt, I don't know why he wouldn't fight TJ. The mission is undisputed MW champ. The IBF belt is required for that. He's fighting who many believe to be the #2 fighter in the division next. Assuming he beats Jacobs, who do you really expect him to drop the belt for? And why?

Johnson should have to fight Deravyenchenko or Murata to remain in mandatory position. He hasn't even been in the ring for 15 months ffs.

Gennady Golovkin is of the old school that's one reason why I support him. He is PROUD to be The World Middleweight Champion. He wants ALL the belts, He wants to break Hopkins & Monzon's records The $$$$$$ is secondary to him. He wont hand any title back like the red headed chubby assed cherub Pollo Canelo did. He's a MAN!! not a chicken like pollo

    A unification bout trumps mando's.

WBO champ vs. WBC/WBA/IBF champ or WBO champ vs. guy whose last two fights were at 154 and 164.5?

Give me the former all day everyday. Canelo the mandatory is a complete and utter farce. Proves GBP is corrupt.

Wasn't dwane wade the mando last year or was that another belt. After Jacobs (if he wins) GGG can fight TJ in June because Sanders will be fighting khurtzide. Sept maybe the Canelo fight which I doubt or fight Sanders if he retains his belts. I think that Canelo v Sanders will happen in Sept instead of GGG. That will make GGG wait another 6 months to a year from now. Keep waiting everyone...
