Google it ... the ring rankings would show that Hatton was a top 5 WW who beat the then reigning champion in Louie Collazo ... and if you check it ... WBC did have Hatton as the #1 contender at WW !! :hi:
You just went off on a ridiculous tangent buddy. I'm not hating on Floyd's career - The only thing this thread is about and the only thing I was talking about was the PRESENT 147lbs scene. Did all that go right over your head as you typed out all this nonsensical **** in response to my previous post? Do you honestly think by this point in Floyd Mayweather's career that he gives a **** about the integrity and meaning of his 147lb Title that he won over Baldomir? 1) Floyd is a 5 division champ 2) Floyd knows Baldomir was one of the least talented fighters he has beaten. 3) This is exactly why he has ignored the serious contenders at 147lbs and went up to get his 5th division title over DLH, and is partially the same reason he fought the undisputed 140lb champ in Hatton 4) Floyd is using his 147lb Title that he won over Baldomir as future leverage so if he does decide to fight any of the strong 147lb contenders than he will because he has the leverage with his belt that he got with Baldomir. And this thread says that Margarito or Cotto will be the man at 147lbs. And by "The Man" They're referring to who has the best resume at 147lbs. And if Cotto beats Margarito he will have the following: Quintana, Urkal, Judah, Mosley, Gomez, Margarito as the fighters that make up his 147lb resume. Refresh my memory, what is your argument other than Floyd has nothing to prove? And if he has nothing to prove than he poses no significance to the 147lb division. So if you say Floyd does pose a significance to the 147lb division and then saying that resumes at 147lbs don't mean **** than you're creating a double standard. So if you don't wanna acknowledge the resumes of the present day 147lbers in contention to Floyd Mayweather then stop acknowledging Mayweather's belt that he won over fred flintstone
u place a very valid point, but let's b real...who is active @welter and who is actually fighting @welter or fighting true WW?? Who's fighting the best in their division? Who is recognized by the people (who pay every fighter by ticket sales PPV, etc)as the best opponent for PBF? Y is Floyd looking @140 for the best there? Did he clean out his division where he is considered the man? NO! Y is he looking @154? Let's use common sense for once.
Zab just lost to Baldomir and he retains his IBF strap. How in the world can a fighter lose a match fair and square and still retain his title belt???
What does Floyds titles at other weight classes have to do with being the man at 147? Nice try trying to provoke everyone. A dumbass like you probably thinks Floyd ducked Zoo and went after Gatti
There can be no doubt that the winner of this fight is the man at 147. Either Cotto or Margarito is a stiffer competition than Zab and Baldomir and even a 154 lbs DLH who gets tired after 7 rounds. After this fight, Floyd may hold the belts - But he wont hold the number 1 spot on mine or many other sites rankings.
