Winner of SMW Tornament ( Froch) vs Chad Dawson?

His style and chin found him on the canvas against Taylor and narrowly getting the job done in the end. Froch's raw determination is enough to make him a top quality fighter but he has major flaws (minimal defense, not a high enough work rate for his style etc) and quality operators like Kessler and Bute would give him huge problems because of it. I am not saying he isn't a top fighter, i like him a lot, but that doesn't give people free reign to write borderline ******ed statements turning his major flaws mysteriously into strong points.

You said Froch has many flaws which can't be ignored. I think they can against most elite fighters, because Chin and work rate are far superior to a lot of else, when will is included. If what your saying is correct Taylor would have picked him apart. But he didn't.

 

Firstly Taylor hasn't been elite for some time. Secondly at no point has he proven himself to be at the top of the 168 pound division, with an unimpressive win over Jeff Lacy where he found himself on the canvas, and he definitely did exploit a lot of Froch's flaws, which is why it was a very competitive matchup. Taylor has terrible conditioning and is poor defensively (much like Froch), which is why i picked Froch to catch up to him and thats exactly what he did.

Bute and Kessler aren't Jermain Taylor however, hell i would give Andrade a better chance at beating Froch than Taylor (superior work rate and could take anything Froch could dish out).

 

Taylor is elite, for the first 8 rounds. . Bute doesn't have the pop in his punch that Taylor has from what i have seen. And Pascal does have pop in his punch to. Andrade would be a good fight ill agree with you there. :good

 

You forgot to mention Kessler

 

Bute is more well rounded than Taylor and if we are lucky he will improve as a fighter in his rematch with Andrade and learn a bit about pacing himself and conditioning (something key against a guy like Froch). Pascal definitely hits hard though he lost his head a bit and didn't fight very smartly against Froch, but it is definitely an excellent win for Froch.

Andrade v Froch would be one of the best action fights in boxing, hopefully somehow down the track Bute and Andrade find themselves linked to the super 6 fights. :bbb

 

Now that's what I'm talking about, a friendly bet to spice up the SMW tournament. Let me think about the avatar I would pick I'll get back to you on that. How long do you want the looser to display the avatar? I propose 1 month.

Dawson would dropped Froch like Taylor did, except when Froch gets up he would go right back down.

Dawson is so much better than Taylor that he would finish what Taylor couldn't. The accumulation of punches will either result in his corner stopping it or the ref stepping in. Dawson is way too fast for Froch.

 

You guys can't tell me that Adamek isn't just as strong and has just as good a chin as Froch except that Adamek has faster hands and foot speed on top of that and Dawson made Adamek look like he didn't even belong in the same ring.
