According to Wilfried Sauerland, the winner of the super 6 will meet IBF super middleweight champion Lucian Bute in the final. Nice!:good
Bute probaly as two fight to do before the final. And not much choice as opponents during that time. Lets just see where is name is at by that time.
The final is still quite a piece out, and who know where Bute will be by that time? He's one of my favorite fighters at the moment, but you can't bank on where he'll be a year and a half down the road.
What has he done to get into this position? Fair enough if the winner would face someone like a non-retired Calzaghe.
If Bute's still undefeated by the time the Super 6 finishes then that will be the most obvious and best fight to make.
Seriously??? so Lucian Bute can go about cherry picking nobodies from now till 2011 and he's reserved his right as the guy that the Super 6 Champion (who's spent 2 years fighting the best fighters in the world) has to get through???? ridiculous. Bute better move up to 175 or something
He hasn't been doing it before why would he start now? Bute will likely fight Pavlik before the Super Six is done.
Seriouly, as boring a situation he is stuck in. I rather have wait it out the move up to the barren 175. Aside Dawson theres not much there.
not the point, the point is no matter who he chooses to fight (Pavlik, Miranda, whoever), he's not going to endure anywhere near the rigors of the Super 6 fighters period. He missed the bus plain and simple- for goodness sakes saying the man is the guy that the Super 6 champion must face in the final is giving him emminence for absolutely no reason......ughhh friggin HBO showboys
On the bolded point, he wanted in but GBP in a way kind of sort of ****ed him over. He had a mandatory against Bute and it sort of pushed him out of the Super Six. Hey I think it's absolutely stupid as well. It basically says that Bute got a bye throughout the entire tournament. I don't agree with it at all. I just think saying Bute is going to "cherry pick" his way through it is a little unfair considering he's going to go from Miranda to Pavlik during the Super Six.
Winner will have to fight somebody someday anyway. What would be nice is another tornament, where we would keep the top two and bring in fresh blood. Maby even make it a super 8
