I would like to see the winner fight and the winner gets a shot at a top ten contender.

You are correct sir. I never read anything on it until now. Who would you like to see the winner of Fields and Barrett fight. I was thinking Moorer and maybe the winner of that could step up and fight a contender like Raahman, Maskev, Toney or someone like that.

I'm glad Fields is finally fighting somene close to the top, he has beaten everyone he has faced and let's see if that stays true.

Fields would get blown out bad against a top 10 fighter, his workrate is the only thing that impresses me about him. I think Rahman/Fields would be a 50/50, Rahman is terrible anymore, he almost got layed out by Sykes last year, the same guy Peter had a highlight KO against two years before.

Looks like Fields is gearing up for a title shot in 2012.

I think Fields has a loss early in his career.

But it is good to see him fight someone we've at least heard of in Monte Barrett.

But as poorly as Barrett is ranked these days, it won't be that much of a feat if he beats him. But Barrett, as lackluster as he is now, is much better than anyone Fields has face yet. It is certainly a huge step up for Fields.

That said, Barrett by decision.

And Rahman, even this version of Rahman, would absolute beat the HELL of Tye Fields.

^Yeah, he lost to Jeff Ford and avenged that loss, so he has beat every man he's faced.

I didn't know he avenged that loss, nor did I pay attention to your wording closely enough to see what you meant. :good

Fields is big, to say the least, and he's probably got a very devastating shot, if thrown correctly, and he does seem to be getting better as a boxer, but he's still far from world class, skillwise.

But I think someone on Rahman's level would make Field's level of skill very apparent, real fast.

The hope for Fields is for his obviuos assets (his immense size, great chin, and apparent brutal power, as well as his physical strength) to be enough to negate his shortcomings. His physical gifts may well be enough to neutralize his lack of skill if he can make it a brawl, in an attempt to keep them from boxing his ears off.

I am intereted in seeing the Barrett fight, cause that will probably tell us alot.

This is Tye Fields last bout. He looks a little slow and sloppy but he manages to get the job done. I am not sure how he'll take a shot against a top notch heavyweight.

^He got tagged a few times in that fight, he's got some power but looks like a slugger, someone with a good jab would tear him to shreds if they didn't get hit by him too many times.

Exactly. Monte Barrett is used up, and he STILL might beat Fields. That sort of says it all about Fields in my book.:yep
