This was a 3 knockdown one, Peter vs McCline . Peter down 3 times out on his feet, how he recovered I don't know! Then from the 4th -12th McCline just coasts and Peter does nothing spectacular, except is busier and wins a 12 round unanimous decision.

Joe Jeannette was down 8+ times before stopping Sam Mcvey in round 49

I was going to mention Dave Boy but thought it was one of his fights vs Fidel Bassa...?

IIRC Bassa was officially down three times before rallying to stop McAuley in their first fight. Great battle regardless.

I'm pretty skeptical of it. You see lots of crazy claims about fights that turn out not to be true.

I've only found short reports, and not local ones, but none mention the insane number of KDs. Only stuff like it was a "rough battle" or "Nelson seemed to be defeated", if any detail at all, and that Nelson won with a Solar Plexus punch.

A long way from conclusive, but I'd urge caution on believing it, unless someone has more evidence for it.

It was mentioned as a record in various reputable newspapers at different points from the mid-60s through the mid-70s. I haven't seen a report on the fight itself, but I've seen references to it as a "record" for what that's worth. At the very least, it reportedly happened. Although I'd love to see that RbR.

That was the only fight they had I scored for Pac, for what that's worth.
