Winning that full WBC mw title would make GGG more tempting as a fighter ?

For the other titleholders in this division ? They would be more open to take the risk and fight GGG ?:think

no. Quillin and Cotto would still be scared to death of him. can't blame them really. who volunteers to be abused in front of the world when you can make good money doing something else?

Depends how he wins it. If Cotto just vacates and Golovkin picks it up beating a weak opponent I don't think it will change things much.

Fact is Golovkin doesn't bring enough cash with him to warrant risking fighting him. He needs an opponent to perform on a big platform, like Cotto or Canelo. If he can win on the big stage HBO may take the risk and invest more cash in him making a fight with Golovkin more lucrative. When Golovkin starts making multi-million dollar purses, that's when everyone who didn't want to know will turn round and get in line for a shot.

HBO has already overpaid every one of his opponents so far. and Chavez was offered $7 million for end of contract and $12 million for a one fight extension to face him. they've offered to fight Cotto for virtually nothing.... Quillin wants May-Pac $ to fight him. still no takers.

i see no correlation in how he wins the WBC strap and his desirability as an opponent.

yeah, he has to beat a PPV fighter to become a big draw. An impressive win over Cotto/Canelo would make GGG a big draw. But we all know that GGG has to do it the hard way cos no PPV fighter will want to fight him atm. He has to collect those mw belts and establish himself as the undisputed mw champ. Then he'll get Canelo, Cotto, Chavez Jr etc.

That's not what I have said. I made it clear simply winning the WBC belt has little effect on his ability to draw. It's who he faces for the WBC belt that matters or more accurately how he does when on his first PPV card.

If he can face a PPV opponent and it sells well it will encourage HBO to risk another PPV card with Golovkin, it will also attract other PPV level fighters to possibly face him. And if these PPV's sell well then Golovkin's status as a draw will be established. If they bomb then of course he'll be back to fighting for small purses and everyone avoiding him because he just isn't worth the risk.

ok, i over read your wbc stance. but i still don't think a quick destruction of Cotto, even if ppv, would increase his attraction as an opponent for the Chavez, Alvarez and Froch's of the world. Chavez & Alvarez don't want to ruin their careers against him and even Froch still probably wouldn't be a ppv. in the current boxing situation, short of Mayweather he must beat a high profile mexican to later sell ppv on his own vs overmatched & relatively unknown opponents.

I don't think it would make a difference at all and would still be feared by all the top MWs.

He would have to beat Floyd @ 154 lbs to become interesting as a fighter for the other PPV fighters.:yep
