Let's see your favorite fighter do better against P4P boxer at the age of 39, Oh, wait he never fought P4P skilled boxer, best one was Briedis and he was in his prime, unlike Beterbiev.

Skill wise, Briedis is a level or two above Bivol, and has twice the fire power and twice the balls. Usyk beat him with relative ease, 117-111. So shut the **** up, another pathetic fail from you, one of the more irrational haters on this site. When Beterbiev moves up to cruiserweight and fights guys twice his size with thrice the power, and schools them with style and panache, and then I might be impressed. Usyk's resume violently shits all over Beterbiev's, forever and always.

If he beats Benavidez and even Canelo, I'd rate him in the top 5 of all time.

Hopkins lost to freaking Jermain Taylor when he was 39. Lol.

Hopkins was done as an elite fighter at 39.

Usyk was 31 when he did that. Beterbiev is 39. Prime for Prime Briedis and Bivol are similar level. Both are A- fighters. Beterbiev at his best was an A level fighter, but age has eroded him down a notch. Even at his best Beterbiev was never as good as Usyk is p4p. Usyk is an A+ fighter.

When Usyk fought him ? at his prime ? was Briedis top 5 P4P ? no ? so STFU.

Now there is some fanboy ****, which is really sad to see. It was closest fight until the last round.

I'm talking about skills. Beterbiev fought more skilled boxers than Usyk at HW and you know it.

Let's see how he handles anyone(let alone P4P boxer) when we he will be 39, will he even box at that age ?

Give credit to Beterbiev, nothing more. You like Usyk and try to discredit Beterbiev, Why ?

I'm a big Usyk fan and I agree. This was the toughest and closest fight of Usyk's career. He barely won it, could have been a draw.

Enough with this obsession with this number "39". This is getting more redundant than hearing about Froch knocking Groves out in front of 80K fans.

There's nothing whatsoever to suggest Beterbiev at 39 is more past it than Usyk at 37.

    EVERY. FIGHTER. AGE. DIFFERENTLY.

At at least we can agree on that. Although there's no debating that Usyk won that match, and even you admitted on the round by round before the scores were read that Bivol would probably win.

Dick Tiger's 1969 win against Nino Benvenuti deserves a mention. He was 39. Outpointed the 30 year old middleweight champion in an over the limit bout. Fine performance.

These current fighters have an advantage to preserve themselves too because they don't have as many long gruelling fights to get to 39 year old. Or busy pro fights schedule.
Beterbiev is only on 21 pro fights, has only just once gone 12. Spent most of his boxing as a 3 round amateur/Olympic with headgear etc. , where referees don't allow much damage to occur.
Whereas guys like Dick Tiger has several 15 rounders, has 80 pro fights.
Archie Moore has 200 pro fights. Hard fights with 6 ounce gloves.

After reaching the finals of the first Cruiserweight WBSS, Briedis went on to win the second Cruiserweight WBSS more than proving his worth and also proving he is P4P worthy. You do realize that there's many boxers in less glamorous divisions that are worthy of that but they just don't have the fanfare behind them, right? What Bivol did to Canelo, is the equivalent of what Spence did to Mikey Garcia. Something he rightfully got little to no credit for from intelligent hardcore fans.

A fight can be close for 12 rounds yet end in a shutout. So no, I'm not being a fanboy I'm just being truthful, something the most haters of Usyk are incapable of. Yes Briedis pushed him hard for 12 rounds, and gave him his toughest fight, but Usyk was just a little bit better in almost all of them.

Beterbiev has officially beaten two fighters who are very skilled, the rest of them, not even close. Now if we want to start comparing skill sets, most of Usyk's opponents are pretty damn skilled, and what they lack in skill they more than make up for it with size and power. The fact that you're blissfully unaware of how good his opponents at Cruiserweight are proves how little you know about the sport, so stop underrating them, because all it does is make you look foolish.

I couldn't care less about his age, look what Usyk just did a 37, and yes that was far more impressive than Beterbiev's recent quite feckless showing, which he shouldn't have won.

Yeah, when it's someone else its irrelevent right ? It's only relevant when it comes to your favorite fighter. Pathetic.

Let's see Usyk at that age and then talk, ok ? No BS

And he who takes care of himself more/better than others should get more credit. no ?

If 90% of boxers can't fight at highest level at that age, it means we have to give credit to them, who does.

Bivol is more skilled than anyone at HW ? no ? or even CW right now ? Who is P4P in HW or CW right now ?

    1. Pac didn't UD Keith, it was a SD. And a number of people thought Keith won. A skin of your teeth win isn't a "great" win. It wasn't a top performance.

also, How old was Liston when he topped Floyd P?

I thought he was in his 40s? Those two wins definitely should be on the list and I would say are better than Beterbiev's win.

But you said that Beterbiev at that age was not impressive at all. WTF ?

Just give him the credit, nothing more.

Usyk never fought P4P fighters and when he fought with Briedis, who was close to P4P for me, he had a close fight, and Usyk was in his prime, Unlike Beterbiev. Just be fair. nothing more.

I feel that is a little harsh. You have to take into consideration the fact he was in with the best light heavyweight around. That by itself limits openings. I think all things considered, coming back into the fight the way he did was an excellent performance.
