Name some wins that grew in greatness years after it happened

Roy Jones vs Bernard Hopkins I
Both fighters were still young in their careers. Roy was the Olympic star and most knew he was destined for greatness. While Bernard was seen as a good fighter, but nobody expected him to become an atg and the win was seen as a good one for Roy. Then Bernard picks up the Middleweight title after the fight and go on to have 20 title defenses, wins over many great fighters and to become the oldest champion in boxing history.

    Lennox Lewis vs Vitali Klitschko
coming into the fight, it was put together at the last minute to replace another opponent. Vitali was known as the guy who quit vs Chris Byrd. But after this fight, Vitali went on to win the Ring Title and put on an impressive run

    Mayweathervs Marquez
Coming into this one, Mayweather was seen to be cherry picking a blown up lightweight at 144. Then to top it off, Floyd got rid of the catchweight at the last minute. Of course Floyd won by shutout and the win wasn't highly regarded until 2 years later when Marquez at the same weight beat Manny Pacquiao by controversial decision. Then to top it off, Marquez went on to KO Pacquiao the next year.

    Timothy Bradley vs Peterson/Abregu/Vasquez/Alexander
This lets you know everything you need to know about Bradley. He fights top notched competition in their prime. Since his win, Peterson has gone on to draw with Ortiz, beat Amir Khan and knock out Kendall Holt. Abregu has gone on to beat blue chip prospect, Thomas Delurme since the Bradley fight. Miguel Vasquez went on to beat Prescott, Kim, and now Gesta. Now Alexander is the IBF WW champion and has beaten Randall Bailey and Marcos Maidana.

Oh God a Lennox Lewis/Vitali Klitschko reference

I'll take that because it really was great . Lewis was old, unmotivated, undertrained and coming off a long layoff managed to beat the living crap out of Vitali (The next upcoming heavyweight).

    RJJ/Bernard was amazing too.

Yep, and now we play the waiting game for a Klitschko fanboy to talk about how Vitali was ahead on the cards etc. and we've got a TKO6 thread.

good pick. I thought about adding it :good Leonard was already pretty highly regarded, but he went on to become much greater after beating Duran in a rematch, Hearns, Hagler, Lalonde and Kalube

Calzaghe beating Hopkins has easily gained some stock

Cunninghams win over Huck has to look much better

Didnt Oliver McCall beat Oleg Maskaev really early on, that win improved some

    :good:deal
Sergio is still relevant & on top of his game.
(Margo beat his ass & Tony was only 22 & Sergio was already 25)

(IF the green factor most will use comes up then let's disregard Sergio's recent win over Chavez Jr.) :!:
