Leonard fought the wrong fight vs Duran by brawling, because Duran goaded him before the fight. When Leonard boxed vs Duran he handily beat him twice without much struggle.

Pryor had the mysterious black bottle vs Arguello in 1st meeting, I think it's pretty obvious something sinister was in that bottle. Pryor was taking shots that would knock out an Elephant, plus Pryor got surge of energy in 14th round after having "black bottle". When the round previous Arguello landed flush right hands, that would of KOed any other fighter. And finally Arguello was shot by the 2nd meeting, also Jr Welterweight wasn't one of Arguello's best weightclasses.

Again I'm just playing devils advocate here regarding the threads rules.

Ali vs Frazier #1 Madison AQ
Ali was off a 3 yr layoff for Frazier
Foreman was poisoned and cursed by an African witch doctor
If my grandmother had wheels, she'd be a wagon ( a Quote from Montgomery Scott)
An excuse can be made for any boxing match in history if one choose to make,
    or believe it.
Let's look at the facts.... What's provable. Benitez looked in fantastic
shape, prior to the fight and said he had an excellent camp. He
fought a grueling 15 rd fight against the 2nd best welterweight in
history , one of the greatest chess matches in boxing history.
A fight I highly recommend to anyone new to the sport to study. If
they want to see the differences of world class boxing today
and that era. Highly unlikely he "only " trained for A week.
A comment made by his dad. Of course his dad wouldn't
make an excuse for his son's loss.
If Leonard fought a dumb fight against Duran in Montreal
who's fault was that? Both were at the peaks of their
careers with many championship wins in their future .
Should that diminish what Duran accomplished?
Especially since Duran was the smaller fighter going
up in weight to meet the bigger fighter in Leonard at
    his natural weight?
The only time I make an excuse for fighters are when
they are clearly past their primes or were not very
good in the 1st place, and are overmatched. (The
type May Jr has made himself a multi millionaire against)
    But other than that....

    Greb - Tunney
    Braxton - Saad
    Ambers - Armstrong
    Charles - Moore
Caveat is, do not know how their camps were, unlike Mcgrain who knew that Ketchell and Papke had good camps.
    stay safe guys.

Leonard also was the bigger, faster, younger man. That he fought a "dumb"
fight shouldn't diminish what Duran accomplished that night.
Again , who's fault was it he fought a dumb fight? And most importantly
did he learn from the dumb fight? Yes he did as the 2nd Duran fight proved
and what he was able to do against Hearns . The 1st Hearns
fight he figured out early he wasn't going to beat him from the outside,
so he took the fight inside, won the fight. He had learned to adjust.
Something he didn't do well in Montreal.

Ah-a! So that's what was going on, I knew there was something off with Foreman ).

I'm with You of course. Although I was "hanging around" one guy on other forum who sweared by the fact that Benitez trained for 1-2 weeks tops for Leonard, You just couldn't convince him otherwise ). Shows how hard is to ever universally agree on any win being truly great, with no asterisk or question mark around it.

I was going to say Mosley-De La Hoya 1.

I guess you can argue that DLH was stung by the criticism of the end of the Tito fight and fought more aggressively than he should have.

28-year old WW champion & top 15 ATG Barney Ross, was 72-3-3 for his career, on a 53-1-1 run, with the only defeat to the bigger ATG Jimmy McLarnin avenged, and weighed 142lbs, as he defended against the reigning FW champion, Henry Armstrong, who weighed under the LW limit. Armstrong won wide, scoring multiple knockdowns.

It would take a biased perspective to diminish this win.

Greb's win over Tunney. Tunney was said to have been green, but he did beat King Levinsky before the Greb fight, and Loughran a few months after. Greb just whooped his ass.

Hearns was drained weighing 145 with a same day weighin. lol Just saying. If Alvarez was drained against Mayweather weighing one pound less that his previous weighin weight, with a day before weighin, then Hearns certainly was drained against Leonard. I personally don’t diminish any win.

McCallum's victory over Jackson. Jackson was undefeated and arguably the most powerful super welter of all time and McCallum came in and truly showed Julian who was boss. It can be argued that the stoppage was premature, but it was bound to happen eventually as Jackson was eating punch after punch.

Name a single decent fighter who Jackson had beaten up until that point. He was green.

Just cause some fanboys get upset about a result doesn't mean a win should be diminished.
I get the point of this post, you want examples of one sided fights that can't be refuted....
Well that's honestly pretty lame and boring:

    Tyson vs Sphinx.
    BHop vs De la Hoya.
    Calzaghe vs Lacy...

    No arguments there....

Instead, I will give you my list of fights that ARE diminished but shouldn't be. If you take fanboydom aside and just watch objectively, then enjoy these fine classics without the narratives and the spin:

    Ray Leonard vs Marvin Hagler...
    Lennox Lewis vs Vitali Klitschko...
Antonio Margarito vs Miguel Cotto 1..
    Jess Willard vs Jack Johnson...
    Andre Ward vs Sergey Kovalev...
    James Toney vs John Ruiz...
    Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pac...
