I knew nothing about Diaz prior to this and he certainly he proved to have an iron chin and set of ribs tonight. Says he's been KO'd x 2 on his Boxrec page which is hard to believe given how tough he proved to be in this one. Even though SSR was clearly dominating for the most part, I was nervous for him because was leaving himself way too open for my liking and Diaz was catching him clean with some pretty dangerous looking counters. And I'm not too sure at least one of those KDs Nady deemed slips weren't legit either. To be fair, I couldn't see their feet so maybe Nady was right. Good fight and performance by both though.

Maybe I'm bias but I agreed with the crazy ******* Jay Nady in that both those "knockdowns" were really slips. You could see Rungvisai's feet slipping out from underneath him both times.

The first knockdown was never ever a slip. Diaz landed an uppercut and Wangek lost the balance because of getting hit. This is a knockdown. The second one was a bit more questionable but still i think it was a legit knockdown, too.

I called it 117-111 SSR, but then again, I counted both KD's for Diaz even if the official didn't and gave him the rounds 10-9 as a result. Workmanlike performance from SSR and quality of show of toughness from the challenger.

You're crazy. Clear KDs. if you get hit and you're off balance and go down it's a KD, even if the punch doesn't have much affect.

I imagine fighting the champ like Rocky Balboa Diaz just wanted to go the distance and his determination & adrenaline got him through this. If it was someone else other than Rungvisai pounding Diaz like that, I don't see him going past 8 rounds. Plus those 2 KO's could have been cut stoppages.

His legs slipped out after he got hit on both occasions, and a strong case could be made the the shots were enough to produce the loss of balance.

I've seen plenty of knockdowns just like that called slips, because that's what they are. Technically you're right, but more times than not those are not called knockdowns and you should know that.
