I watched the whole fight (but didn't score or post much during it as I had Lil Butt sitting in my lap watching too) and the only round you could give IID was the 8th, and that's only because Wangek got hurt and dropped by a headbutt and was still dazed for the minute or so that remained on the clock until the bell.

Guy has to be a psychopath to believe he got screwed. Scoring may be subjective but there are exactly zero criteria under which you could argue for him winning (or coming even CLOSE).

    One round, TOPS.

I think he decided to pass. I asked him to hook me up with video before I went to bed(expected it to be through by the time I got up) but alas that fortunately wasn't the case and I got up in time to see not only that but a few other matches including Aoki and a faded Souwer. He sent me the YouTube feed at 8 AM so I'm guessing he decided to pass.

I don't think he was hurt by the punches, either....But they did land and SSR seemed to go down off of them. And, off balance, flash KD's still count, imo.

Sometimes, it's usually a case by case thing and has always been at the discretion of the ref. In this case I agree with him. The Acelino Freitas vs Joel Casamayor slip knockdown that was counted against Casamayor that most people didn't feel was a knockdown I agree with too. It shouldn't have been ruled a knockdown.

I agree that it's case by case. But in this case I feel that the punches landed were strong enough to cause SSR to go over and should have been called as a result. Didn't impact the result of the fight either way, though.

    Round 10 Sor Rungvisai 10-9
    Round 11 Sor Rungvisai 10-9
    Round 12 Sor Rungvisai 10-9

    120-108 Sor Rungvisai

I love the cold steely eyed menacing relentless looks Wangek has in his eyes, he's fully dedicated to the complete and utter destruction of his opponents. Iran saw the final bell, well that can happen when you show up to survive instead of win, and especially i you have JMM advising you. He's vstly improved and was coming off of a UD win over Concepcion, so its not the worst thing in the world that Sor Rungvisai went the distance here. He needs it. It keeps him sharp, and keeps him focusing on his stamina for fights against better opponents in the future.

The one in round eight he went down on account of a headbutt, not a punch.

    Two separate incidents.

SSR and Diaz did bang heads during one exchange and that did seem to affect the champ a bit. But he kept his footing after contact was made.

In the actual exchange that resulted in what I feel should have been called as a KD, the only thing that connects in that sequence is a Diaz uppercut that snaps back the head, causing rear leg to slide out from beneath the champ. He then pitches forward and puts his hands down to prevent the fall from being completed. SSR did lunge and was off balance as a result, yes, but he did go down on the end of a punch and that further unbalanced Wanghek enough to be called, imo.

He's a damn talented French-Moroccan (I believe, I didn't feel like checking), and is a Bantamweight, roughly the same size as SSR, but is more of a slick counter puncher and a KO artist as well, I've been meaning to do a thread on him for about a year and a half, but just haven't gotten around to it. It was just a case of styles make fights, Diaz was pushing the pace and pressing the action and eating counter after counter, trying to land something big and got picked apart, whereas with this match, he was in survival mode from the opening bell, playing the Oubaali role.
