    Round 12

Román is stalking, putting up a high jab, starting out with a slow, feel-out pace we haven't seen in this one in quite some time. Giving respect to Doheny, who certainly appreciates the reprieve, keeping his cracked ribs covered with his left arm, pawing some light right jabs while dancing around. 90 seconds in, no drama. No serious power shots landed either way. Román is pawing the left jab, and zooms in with a right cross, just missing as Doheny flees the ropes with a mercurial lateral move. They snap each other's heads back with jabs, and Doheny cracks a left into Román's brow. Another straight left by Doheny. Right by Román blocked. Left hook downstairs by Román. Left hand lead, right hook by Doheny, blocked yet backing Román up. Looping left by Doheny, and short right hook.

    10-9 Doheny

    113-113

What a fight. Men like these two are made of something else than rest of us.

 Did Roman hurt him with those pats to the stomach after they hugged?
Damn, those two gave it their all.

I score it for Roman but I’ve got a bet on Doheny @ over 5 times my money so I hope I’m wrong!

Wouldn't mind a draw. But if I had to pick a winner it's Roman.

Really nice fight. Are there usually automatic rematch clauses in unification fights?

Doheny is a beast though. It was a very winnable fight, I just feel like inexperience against top level opposition played against him. I had him winning most of the rounds when I first tuned in, then he had that big round and was spent. You gotta credit Danny for the body work which obviously paid dividends, but TJ could have boxed smarter that round. But hindsight is a *****, he could've got the stoppage!
