except that marquez was landing similar punches before throughout their 4 fights.

what changed this time? was it pac/s ability to take pucnhes? was it jmm's power?

id say it was the circumstances when he landed the punch.

pac was going for the kill when his foot tripped/entangled with jmm;s. he wasnt able to put his weight on it so he wasnt able to harden his face/stiffen his neck. just a momentary lost of focus to brace for a fall or clinch instead of punching.

id resereve judment on jmm\s power under heredia.

if he accepts vada with either pac or bradley then he puts that to rest if he is able to ko both with 1 shot or just even hurt them.

Manny got caught doing what he always does....falling-in with his hands down.:D

He didn't have the character or determination(or the trainers) to remove that flaw from his game it got him put to sleep.

Manny went to the well too many times with a leaky bucket and the bottom finally fell out.

That happens when you fall-in with your hands down.

We need to define what is a lucky punch. I guess we can say that Tarver's punch on Roy Jones Jr. was a lucky punch when he closed his eyes and threw a looping left hand that connected. We could say Rahman connected with a lucky punch on Lewis. However I refuse to call them lucky punches. There are no lucky punches. Its boxing. One punch can change the fight.

    :good

JMM has been nailing guys with that overhand right since he was a kid.

You'd think Manny would have learned by then but he's never been the smartest guy in or outside the ring.

I'm not with Marquez either and always bashed him for it. One main reason why I bash on him for it is the fact that Pacquiao gave him four shots when he could have cruised away and ignored him as others(Notably: Hamed, Barrera and Morales) did.

If you look back at Marquez' history, this isn't something strange of him to do. Right after their first fight he went on rage fit claiming he deserves more money for a rematch. Pacquiao gave him the finger for his offer and moved on to fight Morales instead while Marquez went on to fight John. Later as Pacquiao gained serious popularity for his wins over Morales, Marquez decided to go for another shot which Pacquiao gave him. He lost that fight and went on a rage fit yet again. Pacquiao then moved on to impress the public like no one ever expected him to in his move up to 140+. Marquez later attempted a similar task, though as gutsy and courageous as he clearly is, went on for Mayweather in his very first attempt. He lost and was forced to move down. Later, Pacquiao yet again gave him a shot in the third fight when he could have said no. Then came the fourth fight after the controversy(I thought Marquez won the third fight but lost the first two) when Marquez could have been easily ignored without any real pressure whatsoever on Pacquiao.

Do you guys realize that there cannot be a more final ending than getting knocked into next year ????

What if they fought a 5th time and it ends up a draw. Or even another controversial decision. Will it be more final now for the fans or for the fighters?

So they fight a 6th, 7th, 8th... I mean, when does it end?

What outcome is gonna trump a KO6 and satisfy everyone involved (fighters and fans)?

To be honest, even though it wasnt luck. I cant see him ever landing a punch like that on Pac again, and I know for sure, even if he clearly beats him ( like he did in their third fight in my opinion, close but still a clear win) the judges wont give it to him.

So why not ride out on your high horse with a great win. I wouldnt give him another chance, thats a storybook ending on one of the greatest rivalries in boxing history. Let it end there.
