What are your reflections on this boxing year and what exactly stuck out?

Honestly...the only thing that stuck out for me this year was the Margarito scandal, Pacquiao's developing greatness, Floyd's comeback and the Super 6. Everything else was kind of a blur and shortly forgotten.

Another thing...the MANY cancelled fights that happened throughout the ****in' year that would've made 2009 amazing, but from the looks of it 2010 looks like it should be THE great finish to a generation and boxing decade.

    Thoughts? Discuss...

The list of terrible decisions stuck out to me this year. Of course bad decisions happen all the time and in every year.. it's just that this time it happened in the big fights much more than we're used to seeing.

I think boxing won a ton of casual fans this year; even during March Madness, I kept getting asked about boxing in general. Not just questions about Manny or Floyd, but who to look out for and how to score a round. MMA got pushed out of the limelight quite a bit, being reduced to undercards for quite a few local boxing events.
I like it. 2010's going to be a great year to be a dedicated fan.

last 2 months were incredible.. WIth PW Martinez, PAscall Diaconu, Ward Kessler, Bradley Peterson, Kameda Naito, Mallignagi Diaz...

There are potentially some great matchups in ´10.. of course the super 6 fights, mosley-berto, pacquiao-mayweather, pavlik-williams, haye klitschko´s, Pascall-Cloud-Dawson, Vazquez Marquez, JM Lopez-Luevano, winner versus Gamboa.. these fights are almost certain!!!. and that´s an incredible list..

And then we got some fights that could happen
    Mayweather mosley
    Cotto Margie II
    Cotto JC CHavez Jr.
    Valero - Katsidis
    Haye- Adamek
    Diaconu Andrade

Pac - His efforts this year have been great, especially
defeating Cotto in the manner he did.

Bradley - Continues to take risks and do what other
undefeated fighters arent doing - and thats fighting
the best fighters he can get a hold of and not
being a protected species. He is being rewarded big time
with a massive rise up the ranks in 2009.

Mayweather - Polished comeback performance, slightly
marred by not making the weight, but doesnt look to have
    lost anything.

Vic Darchinyan - Entertainment value and willingness to fight
    the best fighters, props.

Eddie Chambers rising as a top contender in the HW division. Chad Dawson beating Taver and Johnson again, Cotto losing to Pacquiao. Gayweather and his pathetic comeback, what's worse is that piece of **** delayed the pathetic fight.

Overall a disappointing year in boxing.

I wouldnt say disappointing, but certainly lacking superstars...it seems most if not ALL prospects failed in some sort of fashion. Nothing and no one seem to come out looking more and more promising.

With the exception of Ward, Pac, and Bradley (still not sold on Bradley)

Interesting choice...I hardly remember him fighting at all.

Him losing to Agbeko was a bit of a shock.
