to be an atg. i believe that if mayweather wins against pac one more big fight at welter after would give him that status. i do think he'll beat pac with ring knowledge, talent and conditioning

Floyd already is an ATG. A win over Pac would just further cement his ATG status.

  3. Floyd is already an ATG just for fights at super-featherweight!

If he beats Pac, Floyd needs to beat a legit fighter on welter like Mosley, or even Margo or Cotto. These fights could erase the impression that this division is already cleaned when he decide to claim the top.

Why would he need to beat Cotto if he beats a guy that beat the hell out of Cotto? If he beats Pac though, beating Mosley(assuming Mosley beats Berto) would erase any questions regarding his time at WW.

winning this fight, then beating the winner of Mosley/Berto will cement the legacy I think

He's already an ATG, but futher wins against Pac and the Mosley/Berto winner would just further add to hsi legacy.

Floyd will be forgotten as soon as he retires so I don't think it really matters.

A better resume is beating all legit fighters in his yard and not get an effortless shortcut claim that he is the best in an already cleaned WW division.

Mosley maybe, but Margo? No. Cotto? People would just say he beat a guy coming off a run of bad showings.

Cotto is damaged goods, what would he gain by beating him? Ditto with Margo. Aren't people claiming Pac is the best at WW despite him only having 2 wins there?

Both already ATGs win, lose or draw, my opinion.

Pac isn't the best welterweight as far as I'm concerned. He's the greatest fighter currently fighting, and that includes at weltwerweight, in my opinion. But strictly as a 147-pounder. Nope. Not yet.

That's all good, but there are numerous boxing publications which rate Pacquiao as the no.1 WW.

It's what people want to see, and it's why they will pay $ for that publication, sadly.
