Manny became number 1 in 2008 when Floyd "retired" since then he has beaten JMM twice, Diaz, Oscar, Hatton, Cotto, Margarito, Clottey and Mosley.

But yeah Floyd deserves to be number 1 for beating JMM, Mosley and Ortiz during that same time period.

Mayweather fought the number 3 Welterweight champion and won ( debate all you want about the sucker punch ) beat Marquez who went onto beat Pacquiao but was robbed, beat Shane Mosely when he was coming off the Margarito win and is now going up in weight to fight Miguel Cotto at 154

Pacquiao lost to Marquez, looked unspectacular against Mosley coming off a loss to Mayweather and a draw against Mora, plus a UD over Margarito coming off a layoff with 1 novice win and a knockout loss to shane mosley.

Pacquiao is a good fighter, I dont believe he is on PEDs but he is just a well conditioned pressure fighter who throws hard power punches from weird angles, hence why Marquez has and always will be able to counter him successfully

Mayweather is a fast counterpuncher with a solid defence which is hard to pull of as the technique relies on reflexes. he is susceptible to pressure fighters but he is normally able to adjust mid fight and counter the **** out of them

Mayweather belongs as number one until Pacquiao can prove otherwise but with the fight not being able to come off (not going to bother pointing fingers) and Manny's unwillingness to travel north of 147 and even a win over Marquez in a 4th attempt wouldnt help push him up the ranking as Mayweather already dominated him.

Its either fight Mayweather or nothing, most of his fights have been at catchweights and bar Cotto beating Mayweather I dont see anything changing this soon

 

Floyd fought more opponents coming off wins than Pac. That is just the facts. Also who cares about the sucker punch since they were signal to fight. Does FLOYD SUPPOSE TO LET ORTIZ THROW THE FIRST PUNCH? BTW ORtiz drove his head to commit a foul first.
