With Floyd moving to 154 to face Cotto, and Canelo being lined up as his next opponent, is it plausible that he simply can't make 147 anymore, and has been cutting a substantial amount of weight to make his last few fights happen. If you are truly a fan of Floyd, and watched all his fights at 147, since coming from retirement it's 2 totally different fighters, he is not dancing around avoiding shots trying to get an easy UD, he's standing in the pocket not worried about getting hit by the bigger fighters like in the past and he has been man handling them all guns blazing, fighters that out weigh him by 15-20+ pounds

-During the first negotiations with team Pac his camp asked for the fight 154
-Despite him boasting he walks around at 150, he wasn't able to cut down 6 pounds to agreed upon catch weight, and even though I'm a die hard Floyd fan he clearly was close to 160 as far as his in ring weight goes
-In the build up vs Ortiz, when standing next to alverez who is a huge SWW, he was way bigger, and towered over him, and I said there is no way he's walking around at 150

Can it be possible that he can't make 147 anymore and has out grown the weight, If so I truly believe the weight issue will become the next issue and Floyd-Manny saga

hes older now. body grows with age. with no pac fight in the horizon, there r better fights at the higer weight classes where he can make money. 147 is dead

Dead ass, the signs are there in front of our face, and no one can't tell me he wasn't close to or over 160 vs Marquez there is a reason he refused to be weighed, when he usually has no problems, maybe with his age even though he keeps in great shape in between fights, the he can't deal with the effects of the weight cut to 147 anymore

Yeah you right, I have a horrible feeling about this though, I'm 100% sure he wont fight Manny, cause Manny team has 0 intentions on fighting anybody at 154(let alone Mayweather) even though he won a title there, and Floyd is gonna stand tall and not budge on going below 154 in the future

No! Floyd has said himself that he walks around at 150 (he said this at the announcement of the Cotto fight), bare in mind Bradley walks around at 160 - 165 but fights at 140 usually. Similar thing for Ortiz/Maidana etc etc

I seem to remember he weighed 146.5 for Ortiz, and 146 for Shane.

Floyd can make 147 very easily and he is only taking this fight at 154 to have something over Pac if we are honest.

By the way he isn't "cutting" to make 147 he is just training and with the training he loses the additional pounds. Not strictly cutting weight ala Chavez Jr

Plus when he fought Ortiz his fight night weight was 150 - ish (someone can tell me the correct figure) and Ortiz weighed around 164.

Why would Floyd have been so light after fully rehydrating if he was struggling to make 147?

Hes just taking advantage of an oppurtunity. I am sure 147 is still his optimum weight.

And i honestly put his new fighting style down to him trying to be a more fan friendly fighter. I think he still has his legs, he is just choosing not to use them.

You must agree vs Shane and Ortiz, he was more aggressive and more entertaining as he took more risks.

We will see in his next few fights what weights and styles he chooses.

Floyd is a small guy. He is probably the smallest welter weight in the division(excluding Manny). Wasn't he 149 a couple of months before his last fight?

Floyd could make 140 if he wanted to
