With Holyfield's awful performance tonight, Wlad will probably want to fight him now

Sherman Williams is a class act, this is part of his post fight quote:

“I’ve had my own personal setbacks. To get over what I did was a miracle. I trained hard for this fight. I was fighting a legend and I can’t take anything away from him. I feel like I should have won by TKO. I cut him with an overhand right, but I respect him.”
“I root for him. He’s almost 50 and still training and performing. I admire what he’s done but it’s time to let younger guys fight and older guys do television commentary. He’s not as good looking as I am. You’ve made sacrifices, won 4 world championships and fought in the Olympics. But this is a new time, a new era. Mr. Holyfield shouldn’t be taking punches from younger guys. That’s how I feel. It’s time for him to move on but, if he wants, we can do it again.”

I agree with him 100% and he deserves a lot of respect for saying it when so many people wont. I have been supporting Holyfields fighting on into his late 40s, but last night genuinely felt like the end. It was different than Valuev or Imbragimov. Not only his performance, but the mood of the fight and everything leading up to it. he should take this fight as a giant red flag. If he chooses to fight on, I dont think it will end well for him. That may sound cynical, but this fight was a giant warning sign. I hope Holyfield can see the writing on the wall and retire.

Up until last night I thought he might be able to get that shot against Haye, but not even Haye would stoop so low as to fight him now.

If he looked this bad against a slower sloppy fighter like Williams, I don't think Haye could justify this fight, except maybe for charity event or something, but not a sanctioned title fight.

I gotta say that when I found out how bad he looked my heart sank, because I truly believed that he had a run left in him, and if he would have come out and beaten Tank decisively, I thought for sure he'd have gotten that shot this summer.

Sad, one of my all time heroes is DONE.
