Joyce was the flavor of the month on these and other forums for quite a while before Zhang used him for target practice.

I remember when David Price was going to be the next big thing.

Heck, even Hughie “He’s Only Young” Fury was going to “shades of Ali” himself to the top of the mountain.

Who’s the next to get the hype for those always looking for a new heavyweight hope? Wondering where everyone sees the hype landing upon next.

Jared Anderson is seen as being a big thing one day. He's probably gonna experience a rude awakening if he doesn't fix his defensive flaws, dude lets himself get hit too much. Not necessarily saying it'll be a loss, but at the very least it'll be a shocking moment that causes him to turn in a subpar performance. But he's young and still learning, so he might fix that before such a moment happens.

Jared Anderson is very hyped. But he has yet to really fight anyone. Just padding his stats.

Let's get this out of the way: I don't consider Joyce a hype job. He is an imperfect but quality heavy who gained a lot of fans by taking good fights. He finally lost one...congratulations to Zhang.

Now that is said, Anderson, Makhmudov and Jalolov are all good answers.

But the answer is already here: Hrgovic. His fans are now bigging up his "win" against Zhang.

Zhang himself is a good answer. I mean, it was a good win, but people are talking rubbish about Usyk ducking him, and the like.

He is still coming up. Fury fighting Schwarz, Wallin, Chisora 3, and Whyte was padding a record. Charr is next.

Wallin & Whyte were not record padding opponents for Fury. You're setting a standard for Fury that Ali, Frazier, Holmes, and many other HW champs from days gone by didn't meet. Put Fury on the back burner, I'd bet on Wallin & Whyte vs. those old time top HWs. They'd win their share with more wins than losses.

Here's record padding: Frazier vs. CW Daniels title "defense". Go to boxrec to see the all the no-hopers Ali & Holmes fought. If you can look at their records without the tinted glasses, nostalgia fumes, and other biases, it's an eye opener !
If the internet was around in those "golden days" the HWs of that era would've been trashed just like they've been in the 2000s.

At heavyweight, probably Joyce's conqueror Zhang. While he's performed and looked good in his last 2 fights lets not kid ourselves much like Joyce he has some glaring flaws that against the right fighter could see him suddenly look very beatable. He's not very agile and a pure counter puncher, give him some movement and he's basically unable to get into position to punch. Usyk and Fury would dance circles around him, even AJ if he fights super cautious might be able to win a decision like he did in the Ruiz rematch against a similar stationary counter puncher.

Jared Anderson does seem to be getting some hype on here. I get it he's the only American heavyweight prospect who even looks like he could do anything, as everyone else over there looks trash. But he's literally fought nobody. Yes the KO over the normally durable Forrest was impressive but Forrest is still just a journeymen.

Where did I blow smoke up Holmes or Frazier's ass? I'll wait. BTW, read a few other threads and you'll see me shooting holes in Frazier's athleticism. Whyte had just got knocked unconscious by a 41 year old. Wallin still hasn't gotten a decent win.

Dubois is a mandatory and hasn't any better wins than Anderson. Doubt Fury can dance more than a couple rounds anymore.

True, the Dubois hype before the Joyce fight was pretty insane too until Joyce exposed his limitations. Got to give Warren his due to get a fighter who probably wouldn't even beat prime a Danny Williams a title shot must have taken some effort.

Who knows what Fury has left, he seems to have mentally checked out of the sport for a while. Too busy getting drunk and snorting coke and avoiding fights. But you can't ever discount Fury the man defies the odds and if he's 50% he schools Anderson.

If he fights Anderson now he is pulling tricks out of Holmes playbook and fighting guys before they become dangerous.

To be fair Joyce is always humble. So he will back without any mental breakdowns like AJ and Wilder.
