No. After Cus D'Amato died, Tyson's career went downhill.

Exactly. Sometimes people talk about Tyson like he was a child who couldnt control his destiny but regardless of King and Givens he was a grown man who should have sorted his life out. Its a damn shame.

no doubt king was bad for mike but how many 2nd 3rd and all da way up the line amount of 2nd chances does 1 grown man need? king never made him talk about eating kids ,king never bit holyfields ears everything thats happened is because mike wanted it that way,he was addicted to chaos as he freely admits he was addicted to leeches who stole from him
if i made 10 million a fight with don king and knew he was robbing me of 4 million id be happy because all these other promoters were gonna do this n that for tyson once outta prison, but at the end of the day king put the most money down and its that simple as to why tyson teamed up with don again.if cus and jimmy had lived tyson would have went off the rails exactly the same ,remember hes addicted to ***** im a big way, thats what landed him on a bull**** **** charge, but astill mike has that likeable/loveable side to him which has made him 1 of the most facinating characters to live in the last few hundred years ,400 years from now tyson will still be talked about untill someone breaks his youngest ever at 20 years 12 weeks old to win the heavyweight crown.tyson was making 30 mill gross for every fight after prison.

I believe that cus was really the key keeping Tyson from spiraling into his old ways. I truly think that if cus somehow lived until now Tyson's life wouldn't be in the sad state it is now.

The difference is he had a solid boxing team behind him that knew what it took to keep Tyson on track, because they were the ones who took him out of the reformatory.
Tyson was eventually lured in by King with the freedom he presented for Tyson, doing things whatever way Tyson wanted as long as King took the lions share of his money. Tyson preferred it that way, but he never had the self control to function in society on his own.
