Come on, you've seen Pavlik fight right? Jab, right hand, stamina, determination, youth.

Jab, right hand, determination and youth is not enough to beat Calzaghe.

Pavlik will come forward no matter what. He'll pick off a lot of Dawson's shots and I think he has a good chance to get to Dawson later in the fight.

I gotta go, so I'll leave you with this.

Before Joe fought Lacey, he was a nothing. A Euro Champ that fought lesser competition by not coming to the States. Then he beats a bonafide OVER-HYPED Jeff Lacey & is immediately on the top 10P4P lists. Go figure.

Al you experts can say what you like about Pavlik. I hope this fight is made too. Not to make me look smart in my prediction. But because like Pavlik said, Joe is looked at like the cream of the crop & he (and I) don't see it that way.

The slapper will get Pavlikated, no doubt in my mind.

Once he eats some bombs that would really hurt him he will think twice before charging in and leaving his self too open as he always does, that's for sure.

I'm not being an "expert" just judging the man based on HIS fights, that's something you should try to do. Trust me I've said the same about Calzaghe but the Lacy fight isn't the only one to talk about anymore, when I saw him get Hopkins(of all people) confused in there then what do you think would happen to someone one-dimensional as Pavlik?
I said it before and I'll say it again, please make sure you watch Lacy/Calzaghe the night this fight is on, you're heading for a very shocking(maybe to you) replay. Good bye and take care.

I think Pavlik's defense is pretty good actually, especially when he warms up as the fight goes on. He is open every once in a while but for the most part he's good at picking off shots and stepping slightly out of range.

That's possible but Dawson uses a lot of movement early in his fights.

You're overrating the guy WAY too much. :patsch He's a great puncher with a great chin but the man just lacks skills and lacks them BADLY. Since when was he a 1 punch KO artist?, he needs to land and land a lot to finally start to hurt his opponent badly. There's no way in hell Dawson will get KO'd from one right hand.

Sorry but I can't agree there AT ALL. His defense is HORRIBLE, would honestly rate it as good as Mayorga's defense, he blocks punches here and there but when it comes down to it he's most open for any shot. You think those hooks Calzaghe will throw won't land?, Hopkins the defensive master fell for it over and over and over till he started to look desperate everytime it lands again and again. I'll repeat, if Lockett was able to land and Miranda then saying his defense is anything but good.

Taylor's superior chin? What? Out of Pavlik and Taylor, only one of them has been KTFO and it wasn't Pavlik. Now if you were to say that Taylor is better defensively, then I could see the point. But superior chin? Wow!

The other thing that people are not taking into account is that if you are a pressure fighter like Pavlik, then you are going to take more shots than a more movement/defensive oriented fighter. Pavlik chooses to take shots in order to conduct his offense. Any seriously offensive minded fighter has to be willing to get hit.

There are some pressure type fighters that are also solid defensively, but it is a different type of pressure. Calzaghe for instance comes forward a lot, but he doesn't get hit a whole lot either. The reason being is that he doesn't set down on his punches, allowing himself to be able to move after throwing punches.

Miranda and Lockett are good at landing punches and taking out their opponents, the differences is they couldn't land solid enough punches to get Pavlik.
