When you're getting more attention/praise, you'll also get more criticism and hatred. Mayweather's opposition was worse from 2003-05 than it was in 2006-07. But PBF seemed to be getting more criticism from the media and on the forums in 2006-07 than he did from 2003-05. In 2006, he faces a top 5 contender and someone just one fight removed from being the recognized WW champ, and then fights the recognized champ the next fight and gets crucified. In 2003-04, he faces Victoriano Sosa, Philip Ndou, and then fights just once in 2004 (a lower end top 10 guy). He doesn't get that much criticism. :?
People pay to see someone shut them up. Given the last two fights - DLH and Hatton - have VASTLY larger fanbases than PBF - I think it's a bit naieve to think that Floyd is the reason that many people tuned in.
people dont like him that much because of the simple fact he hasnt faced the top guys at welter he has been cherripicking for years ,people would like to see him win or loose but duke it out whit a real treat thats it
John L. started it, Ali perfected it. Floyd has just brought a new childish greed twist to the role of "professional *******".
I don't know if we really can say "they don't like Floyd". People just simply expects more from him. He has always claimed to be the best. But to be the best, you have to beat the best. And that is what people expect from him. It is who he fights that people do not agree with him, hence his fans seem to see it has hating.
When he starts fighting Mosley, or Cotto, people will start to appreciate him. But, he doesn't seem to care what people think of him. He is all about money. Show him the money, and he will fight the best, I think.
I cant believe that you cats still keep saying that...Then why did floyd vs Oscar do better then Oscar vs Tito, Mosley, Vargas, Hopkins, and Pac..All fighters that are suppose to have bigger fan bases??? As i keep saying about 90% of you Floyd bashers, you cats just make **** up because your story is better then the truth.
