Mayweather's opposition was worse from 2003-05 than it was in 2006-07. But PBF seemed to be getting more criticism from the media and on the forums in 2006-07 than he did from 2003-05.

In 2006, he faces a top 5 contender and someone just one fight removed from being the recognized WW champ, and then fights the recognized champ the next fight and gets crucified.

In 2003-04, he faces Victoriano Sosa, Philip Ndou, and then fights just once in 2004 (a lower end top 10 guy). He doesn't get that much criticism.
