Berto should NOT wait for any of the winners of Pac/Cotto, PBF/JMM or Mosley/Clottey.

He needs to stay busy, sharp, RELEVANT and in the ring beating LEGIT competition during this Fall/Winter season...Between Now-January!!!

    Decent Welterweights that are available:
    Berto vs Antonin Decaire
    Berto vs Vyacheslav Senchenko
    Berto vs Isaac Hlatswayo

In his last two fights...he weighed in at 145 1/2lbs. And Although he has a great body and physique...he is not an overwhelming Welterweight.

He (and his team) should look at the possibility of fighting
Jr. Welters 140lbs and making a fight at 144lbs.

    The Fights I like:
    Berto vs Maidana (good fight)
    Berto vs Khan (better fight)
    Berto vs Juan Diaz

Or if he doesn't want to "Drop Weight"...He (and his team) could try to convince Jr. Middlewieghts 154lbs to meet at 150-151lbs.

    The Fights I like:
Berto vs Sergio Martinez (Good Fight)
    Berto vs Cory Spinks
    Berto vs Cintron (Good Fight)
    Berto vs Angulo
    Berto vs Dzindziruk
    Berto vs Sergio Mora

The worst thing for Berto is to DO NOTHING!!! Keep your Face and Name seen!!!! Especially impressively IN THE RING!!!

If he's going to wait for those guys then he's making a terrible mistake. Those guys have their eyes on each other and won't bother with Berto.

I agree man Berto needs to stay busy .........what better way than to rematch Collazo and beat him convincingly if he can that is but thats very unlikely.

Berto should stay at 147. No need to move around and target LW's. And no more catchweights please.

I think it's universally recognized that, despite the belt, he;s not on the level of the elite WW's. HE can stick around, defend his 'title' and gain more experience.

    Potential matchups:
    vs. Collazo II
vs. Lujan (which could be a pretty entertaining bout, and Lujan will make him fight)\
    vs. Alfonso gomez
    vs. Judah
vs. Hlatswayo (isn't that in talks?)

These are decent scraps for Berto and could keep him busy for a spell.

I have this strong feeling...After his performances vs. Collazo and Urango...Berto's Promotion team will probably keep him away from Southpaws.

He CAN'T LOOK GOOD against them!!!

The reality is that Berto is chasing the the paydays and has seemingly prioritized the money over staying busy. If he is unable to secure a big payday fight before year's end, which does seem unlikely at the moment, I can envision Berto idling for the remainder of the year. Perhaps he may reexamine a fight against Aydin which could potentially take place in front of a sold out soccer stadium in Turkey but I have a hunch that he'll wait on HBO to re-up their budget after the new year.

Easiest unification fight for Berto to not only elevate his status without running into serious trouble, but something that can ultimately land him a mega fight with Pac, Mosley, Cotto, Mayweather etc. etc.

He'd be a guy with TWO belts as opposed to a trinket holder.

Chad thinks he is faster that Hussain Bolt, can swim faster that Michael Phelps, and can out box Berto. Not that that Berto is on par with these illustrious figures in their respected sports, but he would none the less offer a beating onto OchoCinco that would be comparable to the dust trail that Bolt would leave him behind in if they were to ever foot race.

    Collazo 2
    Quintana
    Cintron
    Judah
    Vyacheslav Senchenko
    Isaac Hlatswayo
    Jamie Moore

There is 7 damn fighters right there.... seven! all ranked in or around the top 10 in his division in the world.
there is completely no excuse not to fight at least one of these guys.... none.

Ducking Collazo is the main thing.

HBO is ducking a Berto-Collazo rematch essentially by offering less money than they did for their first fight. :deal

Not surprising. They know they can't sell Collazo.

    They know who would win.:yep
