Frampton v Quigg bombed on ppv Sales so Warrington v Selby certainly will. Good fight, type of fight that should be chief support on an undercard, or co headline with a Saunders v Lemieux type fight and a strong support cast.

It's a boxing fan's PPV. You're right general public won't get into it. But Warren has no one else who will genuinely interest the public for a PPV undercard. Maybe Dubois in a meaningful fight.

I do think it's difficult to sell ppv for them smaller guys. I think you need smaller guys who bang. Naz was so popular but just because of the his antics but because he punched extremely hard.

No. Eddies one of the hardest workers in the sport. Was meaning their getting lazy in terms of how their dealing with fighters and the general public.

There's a real attitude of the fighters need to sign with me cause we,re the best platform creeping in with matchroom...when the markets slowly beginning to change hence the reason he's now missing out on guys either going to warren or going there own way.

Even the ppv,s its now the casual fans will buy it cause of Joshua. But not even Joshua's infallible...he could get knocked out tomorrow. Or he could knock takam out in 30 seconds tomorrow. If that undercard turns out disappointing as well...casuals are stupid but their not that stupid that they,ll keep giving money to a guy without a serious challenger and a bunch of guys on the undercard they ve never heard of.

He's completely missing out the stage of building guys up to the vast general public by sticking them on ppv before normal sky sports. If something goes wrong with Joshua...he's leaving himself open by putting all his eggs in one basket. I watch a lot of boxing...tbh the only fights I care about on the whole card is Joshua and whyte. Who are fighting two guys with their best days behind them that couldn't really cut it at the top level in their primes anyway. Couldn't really care less about the rest. Yai kafai good fighter...seen him twice I think...both times ppv. Don't know him enough to care weather he wins or not tbh. Never heard of opponent. Same could be said for the rest of the opponents on the card.

Is that true tho Moog or is hearn trying to pull a fast one. He's always said Joshua's always been concerned about getting a great undercard on his events. He'd happily paid the extra money for it.

Now hearns in the paper today saying the tv rights their receiving for this fight is astronomical...like nothing he's ever seen before. Countries that refuse to spend more than 50,000 now happily paying over 300,000 to get him on. And its going out to 160 different countries. 78,000 seated sold out. Ppv money coming in. It all adds up to serious wonga.

All the while he can't pay a few quid...to get a half decent undercard on. Its pretty much everything everyone feared when Eddie started the ppv,s. We thought it was fine then...but like everything when there's acceptance...that's when the cut backs start. Seriously taking the **** with the undercard. He's got most of them in keep busy fights.

I ve hated warren for a long time and like hearn...but tbh I m starting to root for a warren come back. Hearns went too far with this one for me. Not that convinced Joshua's withholding the undercard money either.

Jeez, are you a casual boxing fan. Fair enough if you are which will explain why your whole post is about PPV..what about regular fights on standard sky and BT?.
Yes, Hearn is the PPV king and that’s also where his potential problems are - chasing after fast money whilst negecting his bread and butter. This HBO stuff is also nonsense- he has 4 dates 4 and that’s only because he has an arrangement with Jacobs and maybe Miller it is not some exclusive contract and he isn’t going to take over America. He is big time pisssing off the likes of shaeafer and Dibella but those guys are powerful men and they will come against him and send him back to Brentwood.

Franks schedule with Smith- Williams etc is beating the hell out of Hearn and his nexgen cards which are total rubbish bit he is having to do them as his Saturday fight nights have generally being lacking in quality.

Smith Williams is a Frank Warren main event. Next gen’s aren’t.

That Smith - Williams show would be a sell out in most arenas in the country under Hearn but under Warren it just slips under the radar. The first match should have been a stand alone fight. Especially as it was for the world title! Warren gets so much disastrously wrong. How many people were in that arena for two world title fights? 18k capacity and about 4K there.

No I’m not a casual but the PPV is where the money is and where the numbers are provided. I can get viewing figures for most PPV just off a quick google search. Can you get me viewing figures for the Flanagan Petrov fight? You can judge both promoters and their fighters by how many people view them and how successful their events are, in particular their PPV sales and ticket sales.

AJ was asked a question about undercard the other week looked uncomfortable and dodged subject. All sky ppv fighters have talked of owning the show and Hearn gets undercard budget, cant see that being different with AJ. That’s were Sky should step in as they hold the most power and say hang on a minute if you want ppv we need a better undercard. We’re Hearn is wrong is insulting our intelligence. I personally can’t root for Frank because of his bouncing cheques he

If you really think you can get accurate PPV numbers on google then your on some good stuff mate.

Smith - Williams 1 was not for a world title, Cotto has the belt it was just an extremley solid 50-50 fight between 2 very good men. Unfortunately this type of fight is rapidly decreasing from our standard sky/Hearn schedule. Instead we are generally getting trash nexgen shows which are so boring I find myself happy to answer my missus when she wants me to do the dishes when the fights are on.

So your now going on about attendance no’s of shows and your actually finding fault with Frank putting multiple fights on 1 card! Your a funny dude I must admit. Neither fighter sells massive tickets and both refused to fight in the others backyard anyway for both the 1st fight and now the 2nd in Newcastle.

4 HBO dates are a start. Yes he isn't taking over but don't hate on the guy trying to expand his company overseas.

His starting small rather than going crazy and lose money. Something Warren and his untold amount of companies would know all about.

Now ask yourself why would Jacobs sign with Hearn?

Starting small? Do you really think he has a choice in the matter?? What do you think Hearn is capable of doing swaggering into major US tv networks and buying up mass tv time or something?

I’ve got no problem with Hearn doing some shows in the states- good luck to him but let’s not dress it up as being some major thing. Arum left to go on espn there was a little gap in the market and they’ve given him or more importantly his fighter Jacobs 4 dates no big deal. Listen only D Jacobs can answer that and time will tell if Hearn can doing anything with him - I have my doubts buts let’s see

Not a chance Arum would choose ESPN over HBO. The reality is HBO's boxing is budget isn't as high as it used to be so dates are limited. The fact that DiBella and Schaeffer have already started to ***** about it before Hearn has even ran a show says it all.

Those guys do not want to see Hearn in the US.

The same Schaeffer who had one job to get WBSS an decent American TV deal and he failed.

I never said that. I said HBO don't have the budget they used to have which means there are less dates. There is not a chance if Arum was offered the dates he needs would willingly prefer to go on ESPN. ESPN offers nowhere near the same exposure HBO does.

Who said Hearn will take over? The point is he has something to work with and can go from there.

Warrens needing to forget about ppv events for the foreseable. He's got a half decent stable available to put on atm. Needing to get on with showcasing them on BT sports. Getting exposure...letting people watch yard, dubois etc progress for free. Getting frampton/degale known again with the UK public.

Not sure getting degale/frampton will be a good thing tbh...cause they will probably dictate its on ppv. Hopefully not. Means less exposure to the masses for the guys he should be showcasing. He's needing to aim for guys that's careers in front of them...he can build them up on BT sports before stepping into the ppv market.

Jumping on to the ppv market cuts down the opportunity to showcase guys like dubois. He,ll need them to beef up his cards.
