Personally i'd like to see Rios fighting with Maidana , for start , but i admit that the other fights would be very exciting to watch too . Category : 140 pounds, with the exception of Guerrero ! And who would win that bout ??
I think Guerrero beats him, so does Amir. Maidana/Rios is a siberian death match. I'd love to see that fight. Mathysse is more rounded then he's given credit for. I'd pick him to beat Rios too. He'd have to improve his output though. It's a pick'em. I don't wanna see Erik fighting anymore even if he's very competitive. These young lions will shorten his productive years.
Wouldn't mind him in with Maidana or Matthysee as they would be good stand and trade fights although Matthysee can box pretty good as well so he'd have an advantage there. I think the pure boxers such as Guerrero and Khan would outbox and possibly finish him late. I like to see him in with Kotelnik for his first fight if Kotelnik hasn't officially retired. Would be a solid fight to see how he does at the weight. A showdown with Soto would be good as well and plenty of unbeaten up and comers in Alvarado, Vargas, paris and garcia although I doubt the Garcia fight could happen for the time being.
well , boxers as Guerrero / khan would outbox and finish Rios in the late rounds , no doubt ....... but a slugfest between Maidana and Rios would be so fun to watch
He seems to have been disheartened and dismayed after all the bad decisions against him. I wouldn't be surprised if he's fallen out of love with the sport and thinks to be himself, what's the point. Probabily the same with Kotelnik. I've seen bad decisions ruin fighters careers probabily more than anything else. :-(
It would be an awesome slugfest. Maidana is stronger and has more physicality, but Rios has better, shorter, more compact punches. Especially on the inside. I don't really think Rios and Maidana are THAT alike, apart from the obvious. They have different punching patterns, strengths and weakeness. Not having a go, but just saying "he is a better version of so and so" is being a tad lazy. :good
People who come to fight Rios really, Maidana, Mathysse bring it, Guerrero and Khan will work on the outside it'll be hard to see Rios enjoying sustained periods of success against them. Khan always looks fragile so for 12 rounds it would always have a element of edgyness.
