Just making one of those late-night trips to Boxrec and was reminded that Tim Witherspoon and Greg Page fought a second time in the 90's. I never saw it. Can anyone tell me what happened and how the fight came to be stopped?

I thought I saw or read something about it being back problems causing 'Spoon to retire on his stool. I never saw the fight, though.

I just had a look. Page fights very well and had Witherspoon on the floor in the first. Witherspoon retires at the bell ending round seven, with back problems.

Thanks. Poor Spoon -two of his best victories, against Page and Smith, avenged.

He caught Page at the right place and time the first time out.

I did this topic a while ago and its in the archives.

Spoon was pathetic in 1999, while Page came to fight / win...

Spoon claimed a soar back, but he performed just terrible and lackluster...

Page got the 8th round TKO and revenge...

Nielsen's promoters have been accused of fixing his fights.
His wins over Witherspoon and Tubbs are very suspect indeed.

No reason to fix the Brian Nielsen v Tubbs and Witherspoon fights. They were so fat and out of shape when they came over. It it terrible to think that they were even paid for there "effords". They did not even try to fake it!!

Brian Nielsen was not great, but the fat guys were terrible.
