It would sure help in securing a money spinning fight with Khan though, you can't dispute that.

Hatton is relevant in this, he's one of the cheif culprits in fragmenting the sport and ****ing it up.....one of the self-serving twats.

Please..... boxing was fragmented from the sixties.

Before Hatton's father knew what his banger was really useful for.

Back to Witter-Alexander. Hopefully this is just brinkmanship but I understand why the WBC want 3 neutral judges in a world title fight, I'm never happy when they have title fights in the UK and have a British ref and/or judges (and yes Betty, that includes Hatton). Its just asking for trouble and charges of 'fixing'.

I concur, Gaz. When the reason for the revocation of the WBC strap was first promulgated, I was slightly pleased (out of all of the reasons there could have been anyway) that it was at least for a genuine reason. That said, I was still pissed that politics were rearing their ugly head so close to the fight, though, as for all times for it to happen, a day before the fight is just stupid. Thank Christ it's still on. At least the WBC got their way.

In a strange sort of way I agree with Sillyman in this instance.

After all, it is a WBC title fight.... therefore the WBC should choose the judges.

I always thought the commission was in charge of H & S, conducting the pre-fight medical etc.

I guess we have it much easier, the Board of No Control do the medicals, weigh ins and appoint judges....

Most of our judges are fair..... barring Michael Alexander - the Julian Clary of British boxing

Agreed. What other sports is this allowed in? People don't have confidence in the product you are putting out there if competitors/officials are of the same nationality. There is something inherently wrong in that.

Though much of the time it makes little difference in bad judging. Things like the crowd/promoter influence count for more.
