Junior Witter is set to defend his WBC World Welterweight Title v unheralded Timothy Bradley if Junior does the business in front of a live ITV audience the inevitable talk will return to a fight with Ricky Hatton. But this topic is a very stale subject and all anticaption of the fight British fans have wanted for years all in vain as we know whislt never calling a pro boxer this lightly Hatton is a yellow coward when it comes to Witter and wants t protect his reputation and bank balance by seeking easier fights for easier money and not be knocked out for his British rival. But should Witter now let the Hatton fight go and seek other bigger fights. At light welterweight everyone wants Hatton so why not Witter step up and seek Miguel Cotto and Floyd Mayweather - I'm sure he would put in a much better perfromance than Hatton managed he had to be scraped of the floor by average puncher Floyd. Witter to try to be welterweight champ?

Just a quick question, Why would floyd and cotto fight witter? He can barely fill a ball room in doncaster, let alone attract a huge following accross the pond to madison square or ceasars palace! No disrespect to Witter, but he doesnt bring anything to the table. Too high risk not enough reward, thats the face of boxing today im afraid

if thats the case then the big fights are never going to happen for Witter now. he is 34 and timothy bradley fights are as good as it is going to get.

Witter cant get the big fights at 140, so why o' why would he give up the only bargaining tool he has (WBC LW belt) and move up 7lbs?

Anyways he shouldnt due to the fact he would be borderline top 10 at best, Mayweather, Cotto, Margarito, Quintana, Williams, Mosley would all beat him imo.

Clottey,Judah and even Collazo would in my opinion be favoured over him aswell.

My point exactly :good No matter how good Witter thinks he is, its a bit too late to gatecrash a loaded division at 147 anyway, he should stick to 140 and see if he can foce the gov bodies to make some of the bigger fights for him, because I dont see anyone lining up to fight him at the moment

He could make some decent money at LW.

I think Hatton would beat him, everyone is saying Hatton is made for Witter, but the same could be said of Witter being made for Hatton.

Also i would favor Malignaggi over Witter, but not by much. Malignaggi has a good set of whiskers and i think his speed would off set Witter.

Other than those two fighters i cant see a fighter able to beat him.

He'd do better than Hatton at Welter and could beat a few of the top 10, only Cotto's the main threat there now, the rest are normal contenders and Floyd prefers DLH 2 and Hatton.

Every person in the top 10 would beat Witter.

Doubt any of them would fight him to prove it though, there's no point.

I'm surprised how low most of you rate Witter I disagree. I think if he fought Zab Judah again he would knock him out. I think he would hurt and stop Miguel Cotto - Corley nearly did it - Witter beat Corley. I think he would knock out Hatton - unorthdox style like Mayweather. And I think (sure most will disagree here) he would have a decent shot at beating Mayweather. Witter is clearly underated by most of your comments her. The way he blasted out Vivian Harris was a warning for everyone from 140-147 this WBC Champ is serious fighter.

There's a reason Witter is always so fanatic about calling out Hatton: it's the only really big name and big money fighter he could possibly hope to get a fight with. He knows damn well that the likes of Cotto or Mayweather are way out of his reach.

Cotto already offered to fight him but Witter ran away scared. If he was running from Judah throughout their match he would literally be run out of the ring by Cotto.
