Witter/Hatton: Blame Ricky!

The fact that he is only calling ricky out and then does nothing else is what people are bothered about, if ricky aint going to fight him he should move on and make his name fighting other people instead of going on about how hard done by he is.

did you notice he's beat 4 top 10 140lb fighters in the last 2-3 years?

Take out a faded Tszyu (which is still a very good win no doubt) and does Hatton have wins any better than Witter's over the likes of Harris, N'Dou and Corley?
we all knew Castillo was over the hill and a smaller guy so please don't give us that.

Yes there were many fights prior to the Tszyu fight, however, if you compare their respective ledgers in this time Witters opponents were every bit as bad, & often worse, than Hattons. Why was Witter not KO'ing big name opponents & putting Ricky to shame?

Probably because he didn't have the confidence in his own ability to do so. I dont include the Judah fight in all this as this came very early in Witter's career but he didn't exactly cover himself in glory there did he?

I'm by no means a massive Hatton fan. But he's made it work for him, he's got the big fights, he's earned the big money

Witter has beat a few ok fighters, and knocked out Harris impressively. He's got to accept he's not the only boxer in history that has had to do it the hard way. It's not all his own fault, but his style and personality make him less marketable. He really should have been over in America a long time ago, because that is the only way he is going to get big fights

He simply isn't the draw to get somebody of the stature of Tszyu over in the UK. Therefore nobody gives a **** about him outside the UK, so he has to MAKE people give a ****. He simply hasn't done it. There is time left if he gets his finger out and stops whining about how hard done by he is

 

Hatton's fans come up with every excuse in the book for ducking Witter. Maybe Ricky just knows something they don't.

Tszyu got beat senseless by a Vince Phillips (Hatton beat an old version of both guys).

It seems to me that there are too many people on here ready to label others "Hatton zealots" or "haters" when, infact, we are merely rational boxing fans with an opinion. To those people I will say this, why dont you shock us all by giving a structured argument for once as opposed to resorting to the now tiresome cries of "hater" when you don't get the entire forum bowing down & hanging on your every word.

well if we're talking about earning bucks,i think this is about the best fight hatton could take at this moment in time.i think it would be huge on this side of the pond,and i think the american sattelites would take it too.it really is about time hatton took this fight,i don't believe for one minute that he's scared of witter i really think it is personal,but really he needs to put that to one side and get it on.he would earn good money and also more credibility by beating probably the best other 140 pounder out there.

we've been over all this stuff countless times on here. I don't hate Hatton.
I've always said he's an overrated fighter and his continued ducking of Witter has annoyed me for years. That's different from hating. Nothing any of you guys offer up convinces me otherwise.
