On the evidence of last Saturday I'd fancy Bradley to repeat his win should they have a rematch. No way was that a split decision, Bradley won convincingly. Unless that was just a bad night at the office I reckon at 34, and with a style that relies on speed and reflexes, Witter's time at the top is over.

No way split decision, Bradley by 3-4 rounds easy, Witter pissing around again.

Done far too little and switched completely in-affectively, same as usual in my humble opinion just didnt get away with it this time.

I think the win over Harris was a bit misleading....Witter seemed to be fading before that fight. It's normal at 34 for a guy who relies so much on speed and reflexes.
I'd make Hatton favourite over him now, when I wouldn't have done before. That was never the crux of the argument though, it was why Hatton was so shamelessly ducking Witter for years.

Despite my rantings on saturday night, in the cold light of day I would have to agree with you.

Bradley would take him in the rematch.

Especially seeing as a return bout would likely be in the US. Junior just doesn't have the style or the workrate win a decision over there. His only chance would be the knockout and judging by what we saw at the weekend, it would be a highly unlikely outcome.

:good, winning rematch against Bradley on points is gonna be tough unless he goes back to the style drawing board.

KO i dont think is such a long shot with Bradleys style, he just wasnt picking n placing the right shot when Bradley was coming in, even tho Bradley had really good head movement he was at least open to uppercut many times and Junior barely threw it.

The Harris fight does now look very much like a blip that flattered Witters form. It'll be interesting to see how Harris performs in his next few fights...

I really do hope that Witter does have a rematch clause but I still can not see him getting a win vs Bradley unless the loss was just a blip. At 34 it looks like it is time to retire.

So did they include a rematch clause?

Or is Bradley keen to fight Witter again?

Or might he be swayed by another (larger) purse offer yet?

Bradley said he'd fight Hatton or Witter. I'm not sure about Witter having an actual clause in the contract through, these were banned by most governing bodies esp. as Bradley was Witters mandatory...you could have a title ping-ponging in between two fighters for years.

No idea if a rematch clause was in the original fight contract but Bradley may be keen to fight Witter again.

Bradley handily beat Witter and would beleive that he can do that again. In beating Witter Bradley beat the guy many believed to be the number 2 guy in the division so Bradley must have earned alot of respect, even so he is still not a well known fighter and apart from Maligfaggi and Hatton not too many guys at 140 will offer him the chance of spreading his name. I can not see American tv being too intersted in a Witter fight but in comparison to a couple of the other guys in line a rematch looks a good show.

Not sure who Bradley's team will have lined up but I can not see too many better fights out there for him quite yet that are better than another fight with Witter. Mainly considering that most of the top level guys have matches already arranged.

Didn't Taylor have one in his contract for Pavlik (and an over-the-weight rematch at that). I hear what you're saying though, I'm sure a fighter can't insist on a rematch clause for a mandatory defence (voluntary might be a different kettle of fishs). Guess Pavlik must have been pretty confident of having Taylor's number.

It wasn't so much of a 'rematch' though in title terms as it was at a higher weight, as you say, and the titles weren't at stake.

Hence nothing to do with the snactioning bodies.

I hope that Witter gets his rematch and I honestly think he would win it. He was beaten the other night no two ways about it. It was no sd neither, I had it by two to Bradley. I do think that if he is given another go Witter can beat him. He was awful the other night, his reflexes weren't there, he looked sluggish and almost clummsy BUT I do think he underestimated Bradley ( as did many on here, myself included ) and failed to prepare properly, but I do still think Jnr has a fair bit to offer. Some people are too willing to write people off at the first chance, if he gets his rematch I think he will get the strap back and be back baiting Hatton before you know it .........

and then we can re-open the whole ducking debate  :bbb
