don't confuse the hattonsexuals with logic, they don't like it. they like to shy away from the fact that witter is generally considered by most boxing media outlets and fans as the number one contender to hatton's throne as 140 champ.
its the same guys who hate floyd for not fighting cotto, who is floyds no.1 contender. but they are alright with hatton not fighting his no.1 contender?
That isn't irritatting, the fact that he has been bitching for what seems like his entire life is. He now has a legit beef, but having heard this **** for years makes it hard to feel sorry for him.
Bottom line is Hatton likes to do the warrior act but is too ***** to take all of the fights. If he dropped the little tough guy act, he could do whatever the **** he wants. He knows his limitations and with all of his idiotic mancunian fans, could just fight rematches, or weak opposition and get paydays for the rest of his career;of which he no doubt will do. Like it or not Witter has always been a live opponent for Hatton and risk/reward ratio measured up he ducked him and fought a certain career path to maximise money from his meagre talent. Witter would land on Hatton coming in and knock him out.
I am not surprised. I think that is the reason why he wants to have a go at Hatton - to get a little bit of cake of his popularity - especially now, when he has shown to be beatable. This being said - I think it would be a great match. The battle of Britain: Witter-Hatton, Calzaghe-Woods.
Witter "I will kick Hattons butt for free". Well he can wait at the back of the queue like everyone else.
Witter Beat Arturo Morua and Arturo Morua beat Carlos Maussa by UD before Hatton beat him so please don't use Carlos Maussa as an example of a credible opponent as witter has already beaten one of his conquerors.
Witter wouldn't stand a hope in hell in this fight, and he deserves it no more than most top 10 fighters at 140. And let's face it, 99.99% of people who would buy a ticket to a fight against Witter is either a Hatton fan or Hatton hater - nothing to do with Witter whatsoever. Having said that, if he fought and beat Torres, then what he will have achieved would actually be greater than anyone elses in the division bar Hatton. At that point Hatton should really fight him, as it would become clear that "The Hitter's" career isn't stagnating after all, despite Hatton's efforts.
