Ah well he might be boring but he wins though and does enough and hasn't lost since 2000. Some people on here though may think a boxer should not be punished like Witter has for being maybe too tight in his defense at times and hasn't put on theshow everyone has expected but eventually you will get top the top if you cant lose, Hopkins you could use as an example maybe.

Maybe thats Witter has done well at, the art of not losing, but just more boring.

Witter was number 1 contender, Oscar de La Hoya said Witter would get the shot at the winner, Mayweather though moved up, Witter faced Corley for the vacant belt, said the dumb ****er.

Witter hasn't got the style to please the British public unfortunately for him.

English people in all sports like to see fast, direct, frenetic.....which is why Naz and Hatton are/were so popular.

The public want to see fireworks, Witter doesn't offer that, even in victory.

Which is why he annoys me with his self pity about being black etc.

You think Mayweather (or even Gatti) was ever going to fight Witter? Don't make me laugh...his last fight vs Vivian Harris was held in a Sports Centre FFS. Whoever had won Mayweather-Gatti wouldn't have bothered with Witter.

Yes of course, not really denying that point, but it was Oscar De La Hoya who said he was looking for Witter to face the winner of the fight.

He may have been disappointed with getting Colin Lynes, but that's all he deserved. Disappointment is no excuse for the way he tired badly and looked crap against Lynes, and he should be thankful he wasn't in against PBF that night.
In my opinion Witter is a pretty good fighter, but still overrated none the less. I don't see him being any better than when he got beat by Zab Judah. He bottled it that night, and that's all he'll probably be remembered for in years to come.

Don't compare hook & hold Hatton to Hamed in excitement. Honestly Hatton isn't exciting, wheres the excitement? He uses little in the way of skill and doesnt exchange. He also doesnt take risks with his choices of opponents outside of Mayweather/Tyszu (Castillo was shot to pieces)

Hatton doesn't have boxing fans he has football holigan lager louts who know nothing of boxing

When does Witter talk about being black? One off the cuff remark in 1 article. Witter has been ****ed over in terms of being avoided. Hatton has had the silver spoon treatment and those are facts

Ignorant comment!!! Witter won 4-5rounds against Zab on 1weeks notice and made Zab look silly at times. Imagine what Witter would do on 12weeks notice

Hatton didnt have the balls to fight Judah, Witter or Corley on 12weeks notice pre-Tyszu

I think his demolition of Harris raised his stock more significantly to Americans hence why HBO are picking up his next fight, he needed to do it and did, he just needs to do the same against Hopkins now.

If he gets past Hopkins then Castillo or Bradley looks likely, dunno how beating them woulf raise his stock any further, Bradley maybe a dangerous fight his record seems solid, don't know much about him though.

    ^^ Yay.

Witter is pretty good. I don't think he beats Hatton, but we'll see. Or will we?

That will all be resolved when Hatton takes a fight and exposes him, until then lots of people will say and with good reason that Hatton seems to be ducking an obvious adversary at his weight. Why look around for challenges break Witter down easy if he is so over blown. Why not take this easy challenge that will make him a ton of money in an all English contest?
Makes me think maybe Witter is a threat and Hatton is DUCKING HIM.

Funnily enough most rational people are saying the same thing. Lloyd Honeyghan was interviewed before the Mayweather fight and even he said Hatton should avoid Witter because "the styles wrong", and he'd know :deal

Hatton won't fight Witter until around 2011 if Hattons still fighting, Witter will be 36-37 by then and will have slowed down.

I think Junior Witter is actually a bit underrated. He looked great against Vivian Harris, winning every round and scoring nice knockout.
