Witter, although behind on points and with a cut above his right eye, was holding his own against Alexander.
At the end of round eight Witter gives up.
Bizzare and unexpected, has Witter given up on boxing? If not, should he?

okay witter has just said his elbow went in round 4.

Also saying this ISNT his last fight, but sounds very forlorn.

It will take some heart to come back from this

I could quite beleive his elbow went. His arm was hanging by his side.

Might as well. I honestly don't see any avenues for him to pursue, and I'm not even doom mongering.

He wasn't hugely popular around the networks/boxing world to start with, this won't have enhanced his case to get back into the title picture.

He just lost to a completely unproven guy, like he did with Bradley the first time around. Usually when that happens its a passing of the torch, new replacing old, its a very clear sign.

Fighting at domestic/European is obviously uninspiring to him, he's always been one that suffers without motivation. Plus he's not popular to make a great living.

    Nothing doing.

    Witter vs Olusegun/McCloskey maybe?

If they feel he is there for the taking, then they should pursue the fight, especially Olusegun who at least needs to get a credible name on his record for the world to stand up and take note.

Might as well throw it in

How does his promoter sleep at night? A fighter like Witter who relies on his reflees should be fighting at least 3 times a year. We know that in the gym the ingles sparrign isnt vEry serious so to hone his skills he needs live opponents. It says something about witter/MH that he couldnt even give away a WBC shot when he had the belt.
And not getting a rematch clause for Bradley fight inserted when it was permitted by the rules is almost a custodial offence as far as I'm concerened. Diabolical from MH

Witter 'I will knock Khan out in 3 rounds' you should never talk before you have handled your own business, now who looks like a fool? What was i saying last night, Khan would beat Witter easier than people think.

I hope Junior hangs em up. He's a good guy and doesn't need or want to take any unessacary punishment. His reflexs have gone and he just doesn't have what it takes to old man his way to victory...because the lack of fundamentals is there for all to see.
