hold on here witter is doing it the hard way going to america to fight the mediocre hopkins? hatton's moved up in weight and fought the pfp no.1 plus an awkward leftie in collazo.plus an admitedly faded but potentially dangerous castillo, and lets face it although limited urango size and strengthwise is a bit of a monster for a junior welter.that's the easy way?
certainly,in comparison for who witters fought.collazo in particular,at the end of the day he's a big southpaw welterweight,no easy task.
Urango's limited though Southpaw or not, Witter would school Urango. Callazo wasn't highly rated till he fought Hatton though and was outclassed by Mosley.
But during the mosley fight he did break his hand and that restricted his movement. Yes Urango may have be schooled of witter but no **** was going to knock him out because he was built like a brick**** house.
I think you could write off pretty much every opponent that every fighter has had - he was this or that. FACT: Hatton always has trouble with southpaws. I think Hatton did school Urango, but not in the way people wanted or expected, it finished 119-109, so if that isn't a schooling, what did he have to do, the fight was **** though! Collazo was a naturally bigger man, southpaw, and Hatton looked padded rather than his usual lean look, meaning he tired badly toward the end. Yes, Collazo was schooled by Mosley, but was that his worst performance, with the Hatton one being his best? Who knows or cares, the judges gave Hatton a UD in both fights, and thats all that matters.
Why is warren dealing with Witter, and why are the daily mail reporting on it. Crossed wires elle? - must be all the gin!
I hope it happens in May; the month I’m free. I really like Witter both as a boxer and as a person. He was ringside in Burton on Friday night and was introduced to the crowd, and then was booed by a group of people who were chanting for Hatton to flatten him. He had a grin on his face but you could tell that, deep down, he didn’t like it. Much like when Roy Jones was booed when doing commentary for HBO a few years ago. He tried to smile, brush it off, but you knew it upset him a little. Junior did say to me on Friday that he is looking for a couple of fights in the US this year, to put his name out there for big fights in the division.
I think people are just sick of all the trash from Witter. Most people (me included) rate the guy, but all this trash talking is a pain in the arse. When in interviews (off the Hatton subject) he comes across as a decent, fairly down to earth guy, pretty engaging sort, smartish. Yet once Hatton gets mentioned, turns into a complete arsehole, i'm gonna do this or that. For **** sake Junior, just be yourself, stop acting like a cockhead and you may get the fight. I know that trash talking is common in boxing, but face it kid, seven years of it aint got you nowhere, so just be yourself.
They reckon 99% of it was down to the ingles feeding him lines. Every time Ive met the guy he's been quiet and unassuming. Hope he does well, but I dont really rate him too highly. He falls in the bracket between Gatekeeper and elite for me. Hopefuly he'll fight some of the names this next year, so we'll know for sure.
I suppose you do call it right - with being part of the Hennessy Sports stable he was bound to talk shite, and being trained by the Ingles, well..............talks more shite than George Bush!
