“I read your quotes from yesterday’s article and my message to you is grow a set of cohanas. How can you say you never agreed to take this fight, these are your quotes in your interview with Jake Donovan on the 18th January 2008, 9 weeks before our 22nd March fight.

"We called out everyone, but Junior's the one that stepped forward. So, much respect to Witter for stepping up. He'll regret it, but he still earns my respect for agreeing to the fight.."

“It feels good to finally get a shot, and to appear on HBO World Championship Boxing. I’ve been a professional for 10 years and didn’t think it would take this long. My uncle and I had our differences, and I felt it was holding me back. But I’m just glad to finally get this fight.”

“Come on March 22nd, I’m just going to be myself. I’ll bring something new to the table, and by the end of the night I will get that belt.

Even your trainer Derek Ennis said:

“He’s been wanting a fight like this for at least a year now,” Ennis, a former Philly fighter himself, and also trainer to his son, of the same name. “Junior Witter is a good fight for Demetrius; he’s ready for the top fighters and needed a fight, so I’m glad to see him finally getting the opportunity.”

“If you’re concerned about the money and you’re as confident as you say you are why don’t you back yourself to win, or better still why don’t you bet on me to knock you out and then you will definitely earn big money.”
    Junior “The Hitter” Witter

    WBC Light Welterweight Champion
    “And prepared to fight anyone”

Wow - this kid has found himself in a bad situation.

Hope things work out for him - but if I were him - I'll be talking to someone about still trying to get this fight. I doubt if he can find something better than HBO and Witter.

To be fair when did Witter last lose? And he did wipe out Vivian Harris and DeMarcus Corley impressively.....I don't see how Hopkins can beat him at all

If he really is ducking this fight then maybe he deserved to get kicked out.

    yeah, course.

i'm a huge naz fan but witter is nowhere near as big a gobshite as hamed, or hatton for that matter. :hey

So I take it Witter would take a fight without signing a contract then?
