He could have taken that pic at the end of the day after a really hard workout. The only thing I've really noticed is that he seems to be more defined/cut than before. I think this translates to added cardio work. He's expecting a fast paced assault from Ibragimov. He wants to be able to deal with his quick in and out movement, so he's trianed for alot of speed and endurance. I think this fight may resemble the first Wlad vs Byrd fight the more I think about it.
Wow! I wouldn't know it was him if that picture just showed up without knowledge of who it is. He looks like a crazy fit 45 year old
Unbelievable. The way this guy prepares and trains you would expect him to MURDER his opponents :rofl All that effort and he still really can't impressatsch Damn you have the talent or you haven't I guess. Not that he's bad or something, but if you compare his actual performances with the way he trains..:huh
Wlad will probably brutally knockout Iggy, who I feel is weak champion to begin with, the fact that his best wins are over 45 yearold Holyfield and Shannon "Need Inhaler" Briggs, says it all. I see Iggy steering clear of Wlds right hand for the first 5 or 6 rounds, but by the 7th and 8th when Manny instructs Wlad to start sitting down on your punches and to let the right hand go more, the fight will be pretty soon after that.
Just under 9 out of every 10 opponents that get in the ring with him, get knocked out. That's pretty damn impressive to me.
What' s the matter with you?? He KO'd nine fighters who were never KO's before, beat Austin with one hand...he is one of the few champions with a long career whithout a single dubious decision or close, lucky win, because his wins are usually dominant.
You don't think the Peter fight was close at least? In terms of rounds won it was a big gap, but just one more knockdown in the 5th and he would've lost by the three knockdown rule. As for the training, Steward seems very happy with how Wlad is doing.
Very true, I dont even think the biggest Wlad fans could call the Peter fight a dominant performance. All 3 judges only had Wlad winning by 3 points, it was a fight where Wlad was hurt more times than Peter, which led to Peter flooring him 3 times. Wlad did outbox Samuel, but there was moments in the fight when Wlad was on the verge of imploding, especially in the 5th round when Wlad looked be having one of his famous panic attacks.
Are you serious man? Everyone knows Wlad hits harder has ko with both hands is faster and an all around better fighter. It's more like can Sultan last 7 or 8 rounds in the face of Wlads speed and overall better boxing skills. Sultan has not beaten anyone. Nor has he seen a fighter of Wlad Calibur in the ring. Sultanis getting koed!
He was 19-0, 16 KOs when he met Ray Austin for a IBF eliminator. Alright, he didn't finish him off but Austin was on unsteady legs with the very first left he took from Sultan, seconds into the first round... Then, he meets Mora and it was what? 45 seconds with consecutive left hooks... Won 10 rounds to 2 against Briggs ( who kayoed Lyakhovich), 9 rounds to 3 against Holyfield ( in good physical shape)... Manny's instructions has nothing to do with Wlad sitting on his punches cause Sultan is always on the move, Wlad can't hold him with a left hand leash and hit him with the right... Man, I see Sultan getting caught when turning and getting off the ropes or on the counter-shot when he tries to get inside, but Wlad runs into risks tryin to sit down on his punches too. I tried to put down ideas on that subject in a whole article ( Heavyweight Unification - Truth or Consequences)... Probably, Wlad just wins a decision based on his left hand activity and at a comfortable distance, waiting and creating traps for Sultan on the countermove. I'm sure Sultan is underrated tho.
