I can back it up in the ring. Also I will not be changeing my mind if Peter does win his beat a 38 year old. Oleg Oleg Oleg! I want to old dude to win. He's lives in NYC and thats the ****.
That's what I thought. You under rate Iggy. He's quick on his feet, can get angles / in and out. He can hit hard to the head or body and by no means does he have a shaky chin. Austin nailed him flush. Iggy got up and did fine. If Iggy had a shaky chin, he would have been upset by now by Whitaker or Ahyuanya.
I agree, but there's no denying Briggs has a ton of power. I still remember when he had Lewis legs going all over the place in there fight back in late 90s, too bad Briggs chin couldnt hold up to Lewis power a coule rounds later.:yep
Yes, I underrated him. I was going off of the fight against Austin where he looked less than stellar, since then he has improved greatly. Though fighters like "Goofy" Whitaker are not exactly good fighters by any means, beating a 6'7 or 6'8 fighter who has limmited skills and above average doesnt really convince me he can beat a fighter like Wlad at this time, his only real chance IMO is a early round blitz before Wlad get comfortable and starts really applying the leather to Iggy's chin.
This is going to be an interesting fight. Mayweather has completely re-done Ibragimov's style. Most swarming types can't box or counter to win rounds. Ibragimov can. Look for Ibragimov to be defensive in the early to mid portions of the rounds, with counters only, and to be aggressive late in the rounds with flurries. That is going to be his plan. If I'm Wlad I throw right hand leads, and catch the circling Ibragimov with the hook. Ibragimov is something of cheap shot artists. If Wlad hurts him, Iggy can go low, or butt if he has too. Ibragimov has been skilled in the dark arts of illegal tactics by Panama Lewis. He knows how to create cuts as well.
Very interesting, I didnt know Panama Lewis was part of the Ibragimov team, too bad he cant work the corner with Iggy, unless they find away to lift that lifetime ban.:yep Iggy should be able to catch Wlad at times, I just hope he doesnt get caught flush in doing so. I see Iggy lasting 7 or 8 rounds, based on his boxing ability and footwork, but there will come a time in the fight where he will have to go after Wlad, either when he's gassed or seems hurt, because Wlads going to go after him come the middle rounds, Manny will instruct him to start letting the right hand go and to starting putting your weight behind the punches. If Iggy proves he has a chin and heart, he got decent chance of beating Wlad, if he doesnt, he's getting blown out.
You obviously counting kidney punches and knockdowns from illegal back of the head blows. You see the fight just the way you want to see it I guess. Won't happen in a rematch.. funny how fighters arn't keen to rematch the Klitschkos
ya know wlad looks differant to me then when he was younger, i mean... not just older, almost like a differant person... he seemed so much bulkier when he was youger, probably cut that out so he gasses less.
That really doesn't matter! There were two knockdowns called, regardless of how legit the punches were. Yes it would've been very controversial afterwards but at that exact moment in time the ref called them both. Therefore a third knockdown (and yes it was in effect), even if Peter hauled off, headbutted Wlad then forearmed him in the forehead so long as the ref didn't see it, would've meant Peter won. And had a shitstorm of protests and an immediate rematch later, but if the ref had made that call at that time - still won. it's a piece of cake to think of some fights that were won by knockouts that were more than a little dodgy or premature.
Hey Punisher, I think Dorfmeister is right on his commentaries, but you touched a vital question about Iggy putting up with Wlad's power. I think Ibragimov is durable enough to sustain Wlad for the first half of the fight. In his fight with Briggs he took a couple of Briggs's right hands flush but wasn't hurt at all. In this one, he will be eating a lot more of those against Wlad, so you never know. Anyway, I'd say he is still good for the first half. On the other hand, the same question can be asked for Wlad. Ibragimov has more than enough power to put Wlad on the deck and will certainly hunt for his ordinary chin from the very start of the fight. It won't be long untill Ibragimov lands some good punches, considering his mobility and skills, but will Wlad be able to absorb these punches? I feel it's gonna be a very interesting fight.
