Chagaev is from the old country...a lot of those guys are never ripped, even when they are in great shape. The fact that he's pretty ripped says a lot, because that's really not his natural shape. He must have worked his ass off.

He is a stocky mother****er, that much must be said.

Wlad is from the 'old country' too, and he's ripped to all hell. in fact i know plenty of people from that same country, and they're all ripped to hell as well.

 

Actually Wlads weight has varied for fights, he weighed 238 against Ibragimov, 241 against Thompson, 245 against Rahman. His heaviest was 246 versus Austin.

I think it just has to do with how he trains for each opponent. He has tended to be heavier for larger opponents, a few pounds left for smaller, faster ones.
