and #2 on box rec's list

#1 is possible once the winner of Pac vs Mayweather retires.

yup and rightly so his dominant , p4p is more of who can hold out the longest rather than who is actually the better fight p4p at any point in time

This kinda invalidates pound for pound lists for me

Not too long ago he was middle to lower top 10

He hasn't gotten much better so why is he number 2 now

He either should have always been near the top or he shouldn't be right now

If Wladimir has been "dominant" in my view it is only for the periods where his brother was retired. It is impressive, but I don't think it's impressive enough to land him the #2 spot.

Roman Gonzalez has dominated three weight divisions in slightly less time, and has beaten better fighters than Wlad in that period.

Certainly i'm satisfied that Juan Francisco Estrada - who I believe should be on the p4p list himself or very close to it - is better than anyone Wlad has beaten by a streak.

I would say Yaegashi is also better on film than anyone Wladimir has beaten.

Even top minimumweights like Francisco Rodriguez and Takayama are right up there with the very best that Wlad beat.

So given that Gonzalez has been the man in three weight divisions, not one, has beaten better competition and has been "dominant" for only a slightly less long period of time, I can't see any viable reason for placing Wladamir at #2, no.

But he is definitely extraordinary and a top five ranking is certainly fair.

Champions who have the skills and keep winning tend to rise. Wlad has not lost in over 10 years, and has many consecutive title defenses.

A loss typically moves a fighter down. In truth, p4p lists are anti heavyweight because they can only fight each other. Lower weight classes have far more options to meet each other, which is why they can vault upwards much quicker.

IMO, Wlad is #2 or #3 right now in the P4p, and will be a solid #2 after Mayweather and Pac fight.

    Rightfully so. In reality he's #1 P4P. But I'll take #2....

    He shouldn't be #2.

    That position was paid for.

Wlas has not a single victory against a P4P fighter.

Manny has about 10 wins against guys who were in the P4P top 10

Well, in 2 consecutive years, he's defended against the consensus #1 contender. First Povetkin then Pulev. Now, he's defending against another solid contender in Jennings, coming off his best win. After Jennings, Klitschko is looking to defend against Fury, his mandatory.

P4P lists are really, really dumb. Some people go by how a fighter looks against competition, some base theirs on resume, and some base theirs on both. Really, there is no guide-line to these lists, which makes them a bit ****.

It will be crazy seeing a heavyweight officially ranked as the best p4p fighter in the sport. And it will happen as soon as mayweather retires (probably after he beats pac)

Wonder when the last time a natural heavyweight was #1 p4p (not rjj)

    Mike Tyson in the 1980's.

Mayweather has another fight left after Pac. He'll be around for another while.
