Yes, thank you. That's been bothering me about the p4p lists for years but I just couldn't quite put my finger on it or put it into words. That's it exactly. It's not so much who's the best at the moment, so much as who's gone the longest without losing. There is some element of how stiff your competition is or just how well you do win, but guys can slip quite a bit without losing and still keep their place near the top.
If his fights were officiated correctly , he'd have a number of losses , never mind lost rounds. In what fights has Mayweather broken the rules every round to win. Where are all his fights where he has a 25 pound weight advantage?
Wouldn't Mayweather have been DQ'd for excessive holding against Maidana if his fights were officiated correctly? Besides, Mayweather has had a measurement size advantage in all but three of his fights. He probably had a twenty pound advantage on fight night against Marquez. Then there were all the uncalled fouls against Gatti. What's good for the goose is good for the chicken. You can't have it both ways.
Mayweather was unsuccessful in holding Maidana. It didn't win the fight for him. 20 pounds advantage against Marquez? Doubt it. I don't recall any fouls against Gatti. Just a clinical display of boxing
atsch Mayweather was very successful holding on to Maidana especially in the second fight I guess you Feel Ali should of had several losses from holding as well. you know since you are so objective. :deal
This is pretty much my thinking on the topic as well, especially when in the heavyweight division the champion is often significantly taller and heavier than many of his opponents. Wlad, Lewis and Vitali, don't belong on an P4P list. They're all over 6'5" and about 250lb. Holyfield at least belongs his cruiserweight accomplishments, but even as heavy he fought much bigger guys than himself, Bowe/Foreman for example.
