Every Wlad hater always brings up his distant past when discussing his "China Chin", poor stamina, etc. So how d'ya really think the Wlad of today would have done against the 3 guys that beat him from then...Sanders 2003, Brewster 2004 and Puritty 1998. Personally, I don't feel any one of the three would stand any chance with this Wlad, which is why I can't understand myself why people keep bringing up these ancient fights as a testament to the inadequacies and shortcomings of Wlad. If anything, he is a better boxer and deserves a higher ATG ranking based on the fact he came back from such terrible defeats. So, anyone think any of those guys from then could touch the Wlad from now?
Neither can I. Some of the Klit haters seem to neglect the fact that a HW in his mid-20s is far from prime. These fights have no significance whatsoever when evaluating Wlad's chances against opponents nowadays. HENDO can post them ****ing videos to death it won't help him. Where's that piece of **** anyway since Haye lost?
The only one of Wlads defeats that can not be excused by anything except maybe for the fact sanders was an underrated very fast very hard punching counter puncher, I also believe he was highly underestimated by wlad. Wlad got knocked down 4 times and humiliated. Back then he was more cocky not only trying to impose his jab but looking for openings for a quick KO. back then he still thought he could KO anyone and early on. Imo he has learnt tremendously from this fight. back then people said he would only have to be pressured back into reverse gear and then get koed as he had no plan B for such a scenario. Wlad has proven the critics wrong in the meantime. The nowadays version of wlad is much more experienced and battle hardened than the past version and would approach such a fight with a lot more caution. Sanders would still be a highly dangerous opponent in the early rounds even then I believe
Everyone else Wlad beats. Jury is out on whether he can beat Sanders. I don't think he has fought anyone with quite the same style as Corrie since. Is there?
The Vitali fight proved in my eyes sanders win over wlad was no fluke, what a massive left hook counter to vitalis chin that had vitali, the man never been floored in his entire career, staggering back. He also hit him with fluid fast punches in the third. Then he had run out of steem. Stamina was corries biggest flaw, he wasnt properly trained. He'd be very dangerous in the early rounds though. A pity he wasted his career.
Yeah the victory over Wlad was not a fluke in the slightest. I'm not saying that Wlad wouldn't beat Corrie if the current version of himself fought the 2003 Sanders, I just haven't seen conclusive proof one way or the other.
sanders would knock him out again.....not as quickly.....but wlad remembered that straight left hand....thats why he got his brother to do the dirty work/
Wlad via late KO. Sanders gasses after round 2, but Wlad would still be cautious & tentative for quite a while.
