Wlad 2011 vs Sanders 2003

Wald of 2011 would win.

 

Though all of us who pay attention to Wladimir's fights know this, I guarantee you will see some of his haters still posting videos of those fights as proof that he's going to lose his upcoming fight.

 

That Sanders was more in shape than the one vs Vitilie...Sanders was dangerouse to any one. One fast fisted, heavy handed man.
I was there and had thought it would be one of Wlads normal 5-7th round KO's

Wlad said he'd never be arrogant coming into a fight after that..

I'd expect Wlad to win, his defence is much better(balance) and he's not arrogant.
It would still be a hell of a fight though.

 

The only one that would give him remote trouble is Sanders. But I think know Wlad is smart enough to walk him on to something that sends him down and out.

 

Sanders early. Horrific style matchup, neither Wlad's chin or instinct under fire have improved.

Sanders timed Vitali a lot with that left hand and had his legs going, he knew how to set that punch up. Wlad has been in with how many guys that can move and bang the last five years? Not many....He was mega cautious of Haye and the fight went the distance, he would have to fight out of his skin to survive against a quick aggressive puncher.

 

I dont think so...Wlad wasn't really aggressive in that fight, but Corrie was the same height and faster, so there was no way to avoid the punches. Wlad would have to fight him to beat him, or develop a very different style, ie more different than just being less aggressive. I dont think he could...

Wlad has improved in leaps and bounds since then. He's miles better.

However, still looks rattled to me when the other guy actually fights back. Usually, he's so good that they can't. And that's the key to him IMO.

When they do they, backpedalling while flailing his arms in front of his face seems to be his way of defending.

Having said all that. there is no fighter in history that has been perfect. I would pick Wlad to win this one. UD or late, stamina based stoppage.

 

I still think Sanders raw aggression and pure punching power stops Wlad. Styles make fights and Sanders is all wrong for Wlad.
