Right hand goes to Lewis. Left hook goes to Wlad. Jab, almost equal imo. Lewis was a better overall puncher.
I think Wlad edges him in power, but Lewis was more willing to showcase his. Either way, it's a close enough call. Clearly each man hit hard and well enough to knock out the other. With Wlad, I always feel like there's an extra 10-15% he keeps under wraps because he's so judicious not to overextend himself or play all his cards, remaining content to break down opponents gradually. I don't know how many other KO artists I've seen fight that deliberately.
obviously manny wasn't impressed with wladimir's performance, so the monster you're talking about must be a different boxer than what the experts were watching, because that was no monster that night in that ring.
That was a perfectly placed shot. In the first fight Lewis hit him with everything but the kitchen sink and couldnt put him down. When Wlad hits you with a perfect shot the result is similar, watch Brock fight.
Critics used to say that Lewis was too cautious / safety first. Now we have Wlad and realize how lucky we were. Their power is comparable but Lewis was a ruthless, fearless destroyer compared to Wlad. In laymans' terms, Wlad is a ***** next to Lewis. And head to head, Lewis - Wlad would be similar to Lewis - Michael Grant.............except that Grant actually had a real go in the opening seconds of their fight. Wlad would be destroyed by Lewis without landing anything much.
Not faster... I see the opposite. I think Wlad hits harder, but Lewis is the more accurate and possibly better puncher.
Why don't you watch gun-shy Lennox Wlad vs. Ray Mercer then watch Wlad vs. Mercer. Wlad hit Ray alot harder in that one.:deal
Tyson hit harder than either. I agree that Wlad and Lewis is like splitting hairs but id have to go with Lewis his right hand is bigger than anything Wlad brings.
Oh come on, man. That fight was barely heating up when it ended and I think you could hardly say that Lewis hit him with everything but the kitchen sink. On that same note, I think you could definitely say that about the Wlad/Rahman fight. Wlad hit an old, shop worn Rahman with everything he had and it still took a while for him to put him away. Lewis was the commentator for that fight and I bet he was less than impressed by Wlad's show of power that night. I will give you one thing though, Wlad's left hook is probably better than Lewis's.. but in the right hand category Lewis owns Wlad.
