 Lennox was able to tag Vitali to the point of ripping his eye out! A much improved Vlad got floored from slow, clubbing shots from Sam Peter! You really don't see how Ali could beat either Klitschko?:? Perhaps you should go watch some of Ali's fights then.
Klitschkos are totally different animals physically and pyschologically than anything Ali faced. It's not like the Klitschkos would stand there like zombies and let Ali pummel them. THey would attack Ali with an extreme ruthlessness. Consider it this way: If Ali never had his bike stolen, that era of Frazier, Quarry, Norton, Shavers, Foreman, etc would have been considered a dull bland era because Ali's personality is what livened it all up. In effect, Ali's showmanship made his competition to appear better and more exciting than they actually were. Frazier, Foreman, Norton actually had somewhat bland laid back public personalities, like Brewster, Brock, Ibragimov, Thompson, Williams. Ali is why that era was so entertaining.
You mean Wlad would attack Ali the same way he ruthlessly and relentlessly attacked Sultan? Give me a ****in break.
You honestly think that Vlad would be able to go through what Frazier went through in Manilla? Ali and Frazier fought to the point of knocking on death's door. On the other hand, Vlad fought to the point of exhaustion in the first Brewster fight due to "too much vaseline on his legs":rofl. I give Vitali props for taking his beating against Lennox like a man, but aside from that, his comp doesn't compare to Ali's. Even in that bout Vitali's eye was being pin-point shot by a Lennox who by that time had significantly slower handspeed than a prime Ali. If Vitali fought a prime Ali, both of his eyes would've been shut and his career would've never been the same:deal. Oh yeah, and a fighter's showmanship doesn't make his opponents seem much better than they really are, just ask Roy Jones Jr. He had tons of showmanship and made his opponents look alot worse than they actually were. Also, young Foreman had the aura of a young Tyson, so I don't see how you figure Ali was the only personality in the bunch. Ali was just the loudest. Finally, Ali was not THE reason why that era was so entertaining, it's not like he was the only champion of the era or the only one fighting in competitive bouts. If Ali wasn't there I think Foreman would've owned it until maybe Larry Holmes came along. So, I say to you: Stop reading make believe stories about these guys and actually watch their fights before making extremely off-base assesments. The footage is available!!!:good
Dude, I am ****ing Wlad fan, but you've got to be shitting me tiffany cufflinks, when you could remotely assume or suggest that Wladmir is faster starter than Ali. :huh You don't need an aneshtesitiac to put your to sleep when your in Pain, Just watch the first couple of rounds of Wlad's fight, that will do the job.
Stinking up the joint, boring the people, putting them to sleep, holding...turning a fight into a slowdance. ...just some of the ways WLAD is already better than ALI.
Absolute ****ing nonsense. Ali was 32 when he beat Foreman for a start; I'm sure WALDO would have no problem stopping Bugner or Norton or Frazier. Would Ali have struggled with Purrity, Brewster or Sanders (who the **** are these guys?) in his prime? I ****ing doubt it. Keep it realistic please.
It would be an interesting fight to see to be sure. Realistically, Ali would beat Wlad, but most likely by decision. A prime Wlad (who may still be in the future) would have a chance at beating Ali. It really is impossible to compare punching power between different eras, but I have to believe that Wlad has one of the most powerful potential punches of all time, and he's got KO power in both hands. Yes, his chin and stamina have been tested, but they haven't been too bad since he's started what is presumably his "Prime". Alas, Wlad will never be the showman that Ali was -- that Charisma and pre-fight psychology was truly something!
How much, if any, do you think size plays with skill?? In other words, Ali is better, but doesn't hit as hard...IF Ali were 6'7 and Wlad was 6;2 = would / could the roles be reversed??
I'd say Wlad has a chance of winning the fight. However Ali has a greater chance. He'd probably would decision him, I doubt that Ali would ko wlad. With Wlad's defence, its really hard to catch him with a clean shot. Manny did his thing. But Ali is too fast for Wlad so I don't know how he'd fight him. So if they were to be put together in the ring I'd like to pick Wlad, but my mind says the opposite thing.
Corrie sanders hands were too fast for Wlad. Ali would hit Wlad at will. In this fight Ali would stop wlad on cuts or accumulation.
Wlad is not the same Wlad that fought Corrie in 2003. He's way better now with Manny guiding him. So I would really depend on that statement.
