Yep, I agree with most of this. I'd never actually "praise" what Haye is doing but if those are his motives (and I think they are) then we can hardly not discuss them because the business side is affecting the boxing side. IMHO they can't be separated if you are debating why David Haye is not fighting Wlad next.

Sure, I know what you're saying and it has to be mentioned, but I feel like sometimes when he get's criticism for his actions, people use the whole businessman thing to almost defend him. Yeah he is smart, but just because of that he shouldn't be immune to people getting on his back for not fighting.

Let's look at the generalisation you made:

"we know exactly what the key points of the offer were, its was more than acceptable to everyone but Hayemaker."

To EVERYONE but Hayemaker? That's pretty sweeping.

ESB is a microcosm of 'hardcore' fans (although when I hear so-called hardcore fans calling fighters cowards and bums, I do worry about the distinction.) For the vast majority of the paying public, they don't care why the fight broke down or whose fault it was. They watch something else.

In our case there are so many good fights BEING made, why you feel the need to bring up a dead fight is beyond me. I know David's hurt you, but it's time to move on.

i completley disagree that there are so many fights being made. the facts posters on here were wetting themselves about the quality of saturdays undercard is beyond a joke. Boxing fans have been fed **** for so long that they just take it and deny anything is truly wrong like a beaten wife.

Pascal vs Dawson, Williams vs Martinez, Calderon vs Segura and the Super 6 are all great but there in the minority in the top two fighting one another.

Anyone thats not a big David Haye fan that follows boxing thinks Haye is ducking the Klitsckos.

Rob, I just don't care who's ducking who. The fight's not being made. That's all there is to it.

You've taken on some sort of crusade about the evils of the boxing business. These things have been happening for years. They cried the business was dying in the 50s! The 60s! The 70s! The 80s! The 90s and now. And in ten years time we'll be saying:

"class of 2010 versus class of 2020? no contest, 2020's ****!"

Haye has NO credibility unless he faces Vitali or Wladimir. None.

A fight against Audley Harrison is a total joke.

Wlad is so right. I was thinking about this today for like the 400th time. It just pisses me off so much about how much Haye has talked and talked and ever since he beat Valuev he's shut the **** up and really doesn't seem to be interested. I mean, he's got the title shot he wants, he was bitching for so long about how he wanted to fight, now he's stopped. Total bull****, I cannot defend David Haye anymore if he doesn't do this. Nobody wants to see any other fight for Haye, except maybe Adamek.

I think he enjoys the celebrity lifestyle that the belt has given him and doesn't want to risk losing that, the thing is I think he's capable of beating Vitali if they were to meet.

Whatever his game is he's come out of it looking like he's **** out.

I think he got inside Wlad's head a bit, but now he's lost all that as Wlad is laughing at him instead.

Theres only one way to rectify him look like a massive ducker!

well Haye was in America at the weekend, I find it funny that no comments have been made whilst he was out there, because I'm certain the Yank writers and boxing commentators would have been asking him what the hell is going on.

I heard from a mate last week that there is meant to have been an illness in the family.

i don't think haye is playing any kind of complex game...other than wait, see what happens and try to make more money.

he probably believes he does not have many fights left in him due to his dodgy hand, so he wants to maximise income per fight.

i agree he's been made to look like a complete gutless **** at the moment though
