chagaev cannot hang on to that status forever if he doesnt fight...regardless for what reason..he cannot hold the belt hostage......

why would he be stripped? the finns knew damn well of chageav condition before the fight and then stopped the fight for no reason, wba has not gave any indication that they are going to strip him so with what info do u have that makes you so arrogent in saying it wont be a unification..

let me guess ur a haye fan

The arena is sold out with a mega crowd already paid and ready to show up......... You have to consider that when choosing which fight to take.

I think the large precentage of those 60,000 would rather keep the date, room reservations, and plans, as they are, and see Wlad face another undefeated titleholder and further unify the titles.......................than put everything off...............all of them call and try to reschedule their hotel rooms, plans, etc, in *hopes* that Haye actually will be able to fight in a mere 3 weeks.

Chagaev Wlad is, by far, the best option for all involved. Haye is not going anywhere...............let him heal, and let Wlad go ahead and fight what is probably who is considered to be the third best heavyweight in the division in Chagaev, and bring one more title to Wlad's arm, in the process.:good

I've been a boxing fan for more than two years that's why. I've seen every unification known to man fracture off into nothingness.

Wlad has to fight Povetkin by the end of 2009 and Ruiz is due the WBA Mando by then as well. Hows that gonna work?

the finns docs stopped the fight for no reason, and if the fight goes on, it will be in a couple of weeks against the best HW in boxing... how is that holding the title hostage???

You guys do realize Chagaev had the opportunity to unify before and backed out of it right? At the behest of the WBA?

His title was never taken in the ring, and he's has a win over Valuev.

Postponements aside, like him or not, CHagaev is a legit titleholder, no question.

And he is the next most exciting oppoenent for Wlad out of who is out there, as well as all the benefits that further unification brings to the lagging heavyweight division.

So Wlad fights and beats Haye...................what does that do to help the divsion?

Beating Chagaev, and the winner having THREE of the four major titles..............THAT is what they should see as the motivating factor, now.

youve been a boxing fan more than two years??? ok ??? anyways winning all the belts at the same time is all that matters, not keeping them... of course the belts are going to split again sooner or later, so whats ur point??

if wlad can unify atleast 3 belts than that shows that other fighters that have the belt after wlad is stripped are just paper champs anways, and since you have been a fan longer than 2 years you should know that lol...

How does Wlad holding the title for a few months before one of the organizations pull some bull**** vacancy deal help the division?

Hell it wouldn't surprise me IF unification did go down, The WBA made Valuev the "regular" World Champion and made Wlad the "Super Duper" World champion.

This would make the winner the Ring champ. Pay attention.

So basically you just want a stat for Wlad fanatics to jerk off too. Splendid.

If we did that for every lineage, we'd have a whole **** load of paper champions in every division.

Basically what it sounds like is that you don't want unification at all...just the ability to say "He hald all 3 belts at the same time."

It's not unification if it's for a few token months.
